Glen Ellyn Pet Center is mostly a fish store. They have excellent variety of fish from salt to fresh water. They also have very good pricing on food, aquariums and equipment (pumps, heaters, gravels, etc). They also have large variety of goldfish. Their prices on fish maybe a little higher than your chain petstore but they take care of their fish which makes their survival much higher. They're location is in a small strip mall but parking is plentiful.

Taylor College Textbooks is a great little store that offers customers an alternative to the College of DuPage bookstore. They have updated class schedules, so they can help you find the right books for your classes. No need to worry about that. In my experience, their used books are in better condition and are cheaper than the used books bought at the COD bookstore. In addition, Taylor offers slightly higher buy-back prices than the COD bookstore does.

I love M & Ems, and as a Glen Ellyn resident, I love to support my town, this store makes it easy. My favorite new find for my daughter? Riley Roos, totally reasonably priced shoes for the 2 and under set. Love finding unique gifts there for birthday parties and so happy they wrap it up super cute for me. My kids love going there for, you guessed it, M & M's.
It's the kind of store that is so beautiful, it makes you smile just perusing!!
Pros: Awesome hard to find children's brands and shoes.
Cons: Pricey, but have great indoor sidewalk sales year round.

but a bit pricey if not on sale. Giesche does have a giant selection of "sale" items on their second floor, so for those who love to bargain shop, this is the place to come.
They have a wide selection of shoes for everyone, and for almost every occasion. Their dress shoe collection is probably the best, but in the summer they tend to have a wonderful selection of sandals. They also have a decent size purse collection.
This is the only place we buy my husband's dress shoes for work. Great selection for somewhat reasonable prices. It is also very conveniently located in downtown.

Located downtown, Schmid's has a wonderful collection of knick-knacks and lots of great gift ideas, including jewelry, candles, and an assortment of crafty items.
It also tends to have a good gift card selection and paper goods section for entertaining.
If you want some candy or chocolates or homemade fudge, they have that too!

This is my favorite place to go to when I'm looking for unique dresses. They are really pricey, but luckily the store has a lot of good sales. I usually only buy things from there that are on sale, otherwise I cant really afford it. It's a small boutique in downtown Glen Ellyn with a great atmosphere and the sales staff is really helpful.

Katys Boutique is a very unique boutique. When I was shopping with my girlfriend most of their clothing is designed by the owner of the store. They have a lot of very unique shirts, skirts and jackets. when my girlfriend found out they were the ones who had this really cool jacket that she's been looking for everywhere and couldnt' find. My girlfriend liked the way they set up the store as well. The overall look of the store is fun just like the clothing.

If you're looking for something a bit more original, upscale or quality this is the store to go to for toys. They carry a little bit of everything and seem to focus more on developmentally friendly toys for kids, rather than just mindless pieces of plastic. There are about 1000 things I'd love to buy for my kids there. I have bought maybe four things from this place, but it's not from a lack of wanting their items. It's a bit on the spendy side and much of it is out of my price range. It's a nice place though for a special gift for a special occasion. They also offer to personalize items and free gift wrap. Overall, a nice store.
