Shark City has lots of pool tables and dart boards, as well as a couple of shuffleboard games. It's a fun place to go after work for a couple of beers with co-workers, but I wouldn't stay there too long. At night, it turns into the kind of place I don't like. It gets crowded, loud, you have to shout to be heard, etc. I guess I might be getting kind of old, but that's not how I want to spend my nights out. Who knows, you might like it!

The Avalanche Pub is kind of your average neighborhood bar. It's not really anything special, but it's fun to go and hang out there once in a while. It's a pretty low-key place and doesn't get very loud, so if you want to chat with a friend over a couple of beers, this is a good place to do it. It's also nice for watching some sports events.

Pho Ha is a small Vietnamese restaurant that serves typical fare found on a Vietnamese-American menu. Stand out dishes include their Pho noodle soups and rice noodle dishes. Their grilled beef dishes are also very good. Pho noodle soups are large in portion and come in various selections of meats. The rice noodle dishes do not include soup, are served cold, and also come with different selections of meats. My favorite is the grilled beef and rice noodle, which is also served with various cold vegetables blended together with a sweet and spicy sauce. Pho Ha also serves fruit smoothies, although I was not very impressed with the flavor of my drink. The restaurant is small, seating around fifty or less. It is family friendly and usually has a consistent amount of people dining there.

Pho Saigon is one of the few Vietnamese restaurants that we have found in the Western suburbs. It is a large, unpretentious restaurant that has a decent amount of items on their menu. The main dish is the Pho Noodle soup, which comes in three sizes. The large bowl is very large and is a great value because it is only about $1 or $2 more than the small size. There are many choices of items that you can order with your soup. The broth is very good. I do not recommend any of the appetizers because I found them on the bland side. Many times, they also run out of appetizer items as well. The restaurant is large but rarely is full. The service is friendly, though slow at times if there are numerous tables.

Salt Creek BBQ serves the standard selections of BBQ (Brisket, Ribs, Pork, Chicken) but smokes the meats rather than simply grilling them. The smokey flavor and technique of cooking gives the meats an authentic BBQ taste. Other chain BBQ restaurants seem to rely on the grilling method of cooking. The sauce is used a little too heavily but tastes very good. My personal favorite is the brisket, which is served tender and lathered in sauce. The meats are served on Texas toast slices. One can also select a variety of side dishes ranging from cole slaw to baked beans. There is a small selection of dessert, including banana pudding. There are daily specials that are not listed on the main menu which can include fish, pork chops, and other entrées. There is a drive thru window for those on the go and also catering is available as well.

For me, Krispy Kreme comes second to Dunkin Donuts. The donuts here are just too sweet and sometimes hard for me to stomach.
There are a few things I do like at Krispy Kreme though. While I am not a big fan of most of their doughnuts, they have a glazed blueberry donut that is actually really good and very tasty. They also serve a really rich and creamy cup of hot chocolate.
If you are looking for a sugar kick in the morning, Krispy Kreme is your solution.

This is the suburban branch to the Italian Express on Devon.
I give this place five stars because it is much, much better than its parent location. This location is clean and kept spic and span.
Their food is surprisingly better because it is prepared better and presented in a much better manner. The service is soo much better here too. No pesky waiters or gawking waiters.
If you can, drive a bit farther and try out this location instead. You will be pleased.

There are so many Chinese buffets around these days that it might be hard for some people to choose which one to go to. I never have any trouble, though. New China Buffet is hands-down the best place around. The food is very good (as far as buffets go) and they have a great selection. The prices are quite reasonable, too.
The only thing I don't like about the place is that during peak hours, the employees don't take the time to clean up. So you're liable to see napkins, straw wrappers, and other garbage on the floors, which can be a little off-putting.

Tommy's Red Hots is a tiny place with barely any room to sit inside during lunch hour because it's packed with workers from local businesses. And there's a good reason that it's always packed: it has very good food. For a couple of bucks, you can get two hot dogs and an order of fries. Add a drink, and you've got a very cheap (but delicious) lunch. The food is fresh and good, and the line moves very quickly. What more could you want from a hot dog joint?

My brother and I went through the drive-through a couple of weeks ago. It was 11:30, and they were on their third go around with their numbers (they open at 10!). The wait was ridiculous. But that is the way Portillo's is. The place is always packed. The owner is one very lucky guy.
I have some friends that moved to California some years ago. Whenever they visted us, they would eat Portillo's every single day while they were here. They recently (just two months ago) opened a Portillo's by them in Cali. I guess the lines were insane. My friends, being crazy, ate every meal there for the first week.
Personally, I am not a giant fan. The veg sandwich isn't very good. But for fast food, you can't really go wrong here.
