Overall service, quality, atmosphere and price were excellent. Steven our waiter was spot on for everything (and I'm a former waitress and picky!). Started with fresh salad and what tasted like homemade dressing (very good). Good pricing as they had dinner in a range of prices up to around $22. $10.95 for nice size portions of the eggplant and tasty garlic butter angel hair pasta (brought 1/2 home of both). Sauce was 'okay to good’ 3 stars', as the sauce did taste a bit like Chef Boyardee, which I didn't like, but as we all know Chef Boyardee has been around for years for a reason (a lot of people love it!). I'm just used to a different type of sauce and by no means was bad just different. I finished dinner with good coffee and a warm chocolate pecan caramel cake (yummy!). Italian Mom, had Tiramisu (I prefer homemade) but my Mom liked it. To me, Tiramisu wasn't great but was good (3 stars), just tasted store brought. We will definitely go back because of the service, quality of food and prices. This restaurant was well worth it. Look forward to our next visit. Overall 4 and not 5 stars because of sauce, no homemade Tiramisu and older blond cashier, who came across as a bit cold and uncaring. Her ‘measured’ words, her body language and appeared lack of caring wasn’t a good representation for this fine restaurant.
Pros: Overall service, quality, atmosphere & price were excellent
Cons: Sauce could be better (mroe spices?)

While my Italian heritage has influenced my taste for fine italian food...from New York to the North End of Boston...this restaurant is worth visiting..both for atmosphere, price & quality of food.
My entree was the eggplant parmigiana with angel hair pasta seasoned with garlic & grated cheese. Although the tomato sauce was rather plain...I found the eggplant crisp & tasty, angel hair served with garlic & cheese added to the aha experience for the price of $10.65. Entree came with fresh crisp salad, warm bread & homemade dressing. I requested extra olives with my salad and was given an extra plate of olives for which I was unexpectedly charged. Dessert was Tiramisu...while not homemade was good to the palate.
Linen napkins & clean environment all added to the ambience. While I've eaten at higher priced Italian restaurants around the country...most were wonderful...there were those which offered nothing better to offer in food quality & took a rather big pinch from my purse..
All in all service & food at Milanos was a good experience...Will dine here again with the hope of another good choice of entree.
Pros: Service was excellent...as the waiter anticipated our needs
Cons: Needs music for more atmosphere & ambience..

Milano's is absolutely the best restaurant around! We love everything on the menu, but our favorite items are their Chicken Zita (Alfredo Sauce), Lasagna, Marinated Beef Strips, Chicken Piccata....and we can't leave out their FABULOUS Pizzas & Subs! We've been dining at Milano's about 15 years, and still have not found a restaurant that compares! Their service is great, the portions are huge, and the prices are reasonable. We've had several parties there, as well, and we love their private banquet room---it's beautiful and very spacious. Always good to make a reservation if you have a large party so they can be prepared to wait on you, especially on the weekend, but it's not mandatory.....they've seated a large group of us many times without a reservation......I just prefer to let them know ahead of time. They also have a great kids menu, and we feel very comfortable taking our children with us.....they love the food too! Thumbs up Milano's!!!
Pros: Food, Ambience, Great Prices
Cons: Closed on Mondays

Milano's is a good place for a nice, quiet, romantic dinner. All of their dishes are made to order, so depending on what you order, it may take longer than 10 minutes to get your food. The dishes are high quality and taste homemade, so may not be your cup of tea if you love chain-restaurant food. The menu also has a variety of items in different price ranges, from steaks to hot subs. The homemade Italian dressing is the tops!

Wanting to go out for a nice romantic and delicious meal we mistakenly picked Milano's Italian Restaurant. Realizing that service in the south is different from the mid-west after moving to the area we are getting use to the relaxed atmosphere and attention of the servers. What was truly upsetting was the quality of the food for the price you pay. Our main dish was decent to say the least but at a whopping $17.00 a plate I would have much rather eaten at the Olive Garden. Our server assured us that all of their sauces were home made. It seems to me that they must have borrowed their spaghetti sauce recipe from Chef Boyardee. All in all I would have to say that this restaurant really thinks that it is something more special than it really is. Save your $50.00 and go somewhere else. The only way they can still be in business is their over inflated prices and the ad space they sell on their menus.

Although the atmosphere is nice, the food is seriously lacking. My boyfriend had the cannelloni and I had the chicken parmigiana. The chicken in my dish was not breaded and tasted like it had simply been boiled. The sauce on both our dishes tasted exactly like the sauce in a can of Chef Boyardee ravioli. The mozzarella sticks and marinara sauce to dip in were the best out of everything...most likely because it was from a frozen package and jar.
Cons: food

Milano's is a small, quaint Italian restaurant that has a nice atmosphere, whether you're on a first date or dining with your family. I first ate there when I was in high school, and I ordered the chicken Parmesan sandwich, and haven't tasted one that can get close since. I recommend this as well as the lasagna. The staff is very friendly and accommodating as well.

I come from a family that enjoys traditional Italian food, and this place missed the mark. The ambience was good, and the wine was good, but the food brought to mind frozen chicken breasts like you would buy at the neighborhood grocer. I was not happy with it, especially for the price. I will not return.
Pros: good wine, good atmosphere
Cons: poor quality

Gastonia is growing and adding new restaurants everyday. Milano's has been around for awhile. Their food is excellent! They have veal dishes to die for! Order a sub! Their salads are always fresh, chilled and crisp. The salad dressing is fresh, too, since they make most of it! Like baked dishes? They have plenty! Try the Canneloni (my favorite), the Ravioli and the Lasagna! Want angel hair? You are at the right place! Here is is combined with garlic, butter and herbs...mmmmmm! They have a reasonable assortment of wines, beers, etc. In fact, order an evening meal and get a free glass of Sangria or wine! I love this place! You will, too!
Pros: Delicious Food, Variety on Menu, Cozy
Cons: Crowded
