This was the worst store experience of my life. They are the most disorganized, unprofessional, and disrespectful example of a store I have ever been to. My sales associate and final dress alteration woman were both amazing, that I can say. The problem is with the owner and management team. Every problem I had along the way (first dress came in incorrectly due to their oversight and the designer's, alteration not done properly - instead of being let out my dress was taken in, the hem being a jigsaw puzzle, the fact that I was lectured for 10-15 minutes on my eating habits and how I should diet, my veil that came in incorrectly and had to be delivered 2 days prior to the wedding, the $20 that was shoved at me for being upset with the service, and then the horrible denial and "it wasn't our fault" attitude that I received after I sent my complaint e-mail) was made worse by the managers and the owner. Poffie Girls is run by absolutely ineffective and seemingly unorganized management staff who take absolutely no culpability for what they have done. The $3500 we spent there I regret every day. But, at the end of the day, I feel the worst for the wonderful employees (at least my sales associate and my final seamstress) who have to deal with the issues that are with that store. Being in business as long as they have been, I consider a miracle. Pros: Decent range of dresses and prices. Cons: EVERYTHING else.

I was on a tight budget (up to $1,000 @ most) but I have very upscale tastes. I went to all of the budget bridal places (davids bridal ect.) and got okay service, but not the bridal service you want as a bride. I went to Poffie Girls, and I was treated like a princess! I was tended to right away, sat in a pretty little seating area where they spoke to me about what I wanted and my budget. They weren't snooty about my small budget at all (since they also have very expensive dresses). Instead they focused on putting more effort into finding a dress I would love. The attendant went and pulled some dresses for me based on what I wanted and my budget. There was no rummaging through racks of dresses, and no attendant pulling dresses out of my price range daring me to fall in love with something I couldn't afford. It was absolutely stress free, and actually really fun! I felt like a queen being fussed over, and taken care of. They had so many styles, very good quality dresses and gorgeous veils and hairpieces. Definitely worth making the trip! You rarely get this kind of service on a small budget! I can promise you will at the least try on some beautiful dresses, and leave feeling like the princess a bride ought to be! We were treated as if we were the only bride in Charlotte! The gown selection was excellent. And we were always well attended by everyone who waited on us. Dresses (we ordered wedding dress and mom of bride dress) were delivered on time. Fitting experience was good and dress fit perfectly when the bride returned to try it on. Poffie Girls is where we will steer anyone who asks about where to shop for a wedding gown or mom dresses. Pros: Service and Bridal Gown selection were excellent Cons: None

I went to Poffie Girls to try on wedding gowns and had a great experience, and I think it was MAINLY due to the fact that I went on a weeknight (they are open late on Thursdays), in the early evening (around dinner time) so there were hardly any other people there. I think if I were to have gone during a weekend, the experience probably would have been a lot different (but that's true with any bridal shop, they tend to be very busy on weekends). My consultant was Diane and she was extremely helpful. She let me try on a large number of dresses, and even let me go into the 'employees only' back room so I could look through the racks myself and pick out the dresses I wanted to try on (from what I understand, they usually dont let you do that, they ask you what you're looking for and then THEY go pick out gowns for you to try on, then bring them out to you). I'm sure this is because they weren't too busy when I was there, but regardless, it was very nice to be able to look myself. The only thing I sort of didnt like was that you can only take pictures of 3 dresses, so you have to pick carefully. But, that's better than not being able to take pictures at all (which is the policy of some stores). Overall, I'd definitely recommend Poffie Girls, but like I said, don't go on the weekend, I dont think you would get as much individual attention, simply because they are very busy. I recently visited Poffie Girls while visiting my Grandmother in Gastonia. I was so impressed with the service and selection that I purchased my wedding gown, bridesmaids gowns and my mother found her gown even though we all live out of state. I had looked in my home town of Atlanta and there was nothing there to compare to Poffie Girls. I think that local brides would be doing themselves a terrible injustice not to take advantage of this wonderful bridal shop in your area. I will be traveling 4 hours for my alteration fittings and to pick my gown up and I will not mind at all because I know that every detail will be perfect for my wedding. Even with the distance I feel that I will save money because of the prices in Atlanta and alterations will be at least 50% of what I would pay. I recently purchased my wedding gown and bridesmaids gowns from Poffie Girls and I highly recommend them to all brides who are looking for service and value. The entire staff was so helpful that I felt like they were my best friends. I visited other bridal shops in the area as well as 2 other states and there was no comparison to what Poffie Girls had to offer. I liked the fact that my mother and I did not have to look through racks and racks of dresses and help ourselves instead I was treated like royalty. After talking to me, my consultant was knowledgeable enough to know exactly what would look the best on me. After trying on many of the selections I went back to the very first gown and bought. Everything came in as they promised and alterations put the final touch on everyone's gowns to make them perfect. I feel that brides would be doing themselves a terrible injustice not to visit Poffie Girls. Pros: Service Cons: None

I recently got married and went to Poffie Girls to purchase my gown. From the moment I walked in, I felt like the most important person. The friendliness of the staff and the personal attention showed to me by everyone who worked there made me aware that I didn?t want to go anywhere else, which is why I purchased everything there from Tuxedos to invitations. Prior to going to Poffied Girls, I had visited other stores and didn?t get the personal attention like I did here. Often times planning a wedding can be a very stressful time for brides, but with the professionalism and experience these ladies at Poffie Girls have from start to finish, my planning was enjoyable and worry free. I am so grateful to have stumbled upon such an eloquent and knowledgeable bridal boutique and I would definitely recommend them to all of my friends and colleagues. I've had a great experience with Poffie Girls from my first visit. I had shopped at high-end shops in Charlotte and little shops in the country. Poffie Girls service was on par with the high-end ($6000 dresses) shops, but carries all the affordable brands. It's true that you don't hand pick the dresses; they are kept in the back. The clearance dresses are in the front and you can see all of them. They are no you-know-who $100 sale dresses, they are brand-name gowns that have simply been discontinued. If you are concerned about not being able to see the regular price dresses, check out their designers online before you go. Also, the dress I bought was a designer that almost never lets vendors offer discounts, but the store was having a 20% off sale and they made no exceptions. I saved $300 on my dress. Yes, new gowns have to be ordered in advance and can take 6 months to ship. It has nothing to do with Poffie Girls. They estimated 6 months for my dress but it arrived over a month early. If you want a dress that you can buy right off the_rack (that has been tried on 30 times and most likely has makeup stains), then you know where you should go. Good luck with customer service. After reading some of the reviews, I was cautious about using their alterations department. When I went to make my final payment, I told them I was thinking about taking the dress home with me and having it altered closer to my office, and they had no problem with it. They even still pressed my dress for me (you must ask at least a week in advance, but this policy is disclosed on the invoice) and they let me store my dress there for as long as needed. During each visit, everyone who worked there was super nice. They always showed genuine interest and would talk and joke around with me while I waited for my dress to be brought out, etc. They take pride in their work and it shows. Pros: Excellent service, affordable dress lines Cons: dresses are kept in the back

Just like everyone else they treated me great until they had my money then they could care less. My dress was crooked, it wasn't steamed, I sat for hours trying to get helped before I finally had to get another customer to help me with my dress. The WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

My sister bought her wedding dress and we bought our bridesmaid dresses from Poffie Girls for her wedding in May 2008. The sales associates were great the first time we came in - pulled gorgeous dresses and helped my sister try them on and choose a gown. Then, we picked out bridesmaid dresses. I'm a size 10-12, but they insisted I buy a 14, and my size 6 sister order a 12. Both dresses fit horribly and we had to spend a ton of money on alterations, because there was not enough time to reorder in the correct sizes. The other bridesmaid had her dress hemmed at the store, and they hemmed it unevenly. My sister had to go back for alterations 4 TIMES. They took it in on the sides and bust too much, and accused her of gaining weight and that she needed to lose weight (she weighs 102 pounds!). When she told the owner, the alterations woman denied it. She was in tears because the alterations woman was so rude and physically rough with her while altering. She ended up having her alteration fees fully refunded, but the stress this created was completely unnecessary. Pros: beautiful dresses Cons: horrible customer service, alteration dept
