Do you want to try the best of the best in Vietnamese spring rolls? Then you must head over to Brodard Restaurant specializing in Vietnamese Cuisine. The spring rolls there are so good especially their meat filling ( banh cuon nem). Other things are good there too but they are best known for their spring rolls. The wait is long so if you want other things to try you might want to look at other things but you should definitely try their spring rolls if you do go.
The price is a bit pricey, a little more than what you would normally pay but it's okay.
The location is a bit tricky since it's BEHIND a store (99cents store). It's like located in the back of the parking lot (kind of).

I would be completely lost if I'm not with a Vietnamese friend when I come here. They have a wide assortment of dishes to pick from, and figuring out what you're going to have can be an adventure. Most of the patrons are Vietnamese, as is the staff, so its best to be careful you make your order as clear as possible to avoid any misunderstandings later on. This is a large friendly restaurant that can accommodate a lunch group, or if you have children in your party. If you're Vietnamese you'll be able to offer a much more qualified critique of this place; however, for the non-Vietnamese, I think you'll find it amazing!
Pros: The variety and quality of the food.
Cons: Usually crowded.

I was in the area and I wanted to try Brodard, famous for their nem cuong. I thought the nem was a bit salty and the egg rolls were not crunchy enough. The sauce was also a bit water downed. The nem cuong was a bit pricey as well. I had a hard time looking for the restaurant because it was located in the back of a market next to the dumpsters which isn't really appealing. I had really authentic nem at Nem Nuong Ninh Hoa in Rosemead however the wait is a bit long but it's definitely worth it. They sell 4 rolls of nem cuong for $4.99 and their banh beo is really good too. I also tried nem in Vietnam and the nem at Nem Nuong Ninh Hoa is the closet taste to it as compare to Brodard.
Pros: Big Restaurant
Cons: Located behind a market next to the dumpsters.

The best rolls around. This place is always packed at peak hours and just about every table order the rolls. They come in two choices. The nem cuong (grilled pork paste) or the chao tom cuong (grilled shrimp paste on sugar cane). They are both delicious. The sauce for these rolls are good, but a bit salty. I have not tasted a better roll yet in Southern California, or anywhere else. Except for when I visited central Vietnam, where this dish was originated and famous for.
Pros: Good food overall
Cons: Service

Yes......Their spring rolls are very good. I think it's because of the meat filling and the fried wonton skin they put in there. But, on the downside, you always have to wait a long time for your food (even when you phone your order in). I once almost canceled my order because I had to wait almost an hour. Also, parking is a little difficult sometimes.
PROS: Delicious spring rolls
CONS: Waiting time and parking

2)also, restaurant have some weird way of doing business.. let's say if someone front of you orders(catered) 200 rolls. you'll be waiting for your order in front of the restaurant until they are finished with customer that came before you. I strongly believe that is one of biggest issue brodard is having long wait.
SO BE PRE-PARE TO WAIT LONG DURING THE LUNCH RUSH~
Pros: FOOD, INEXPENSIVE, PARKING
Cons: SERVICE, CASHIER, WAIT

A great place to try all types of authentic Vietnamese dishes. The place can be busy at times (lunch) so make sure you head over early. Also, they really close at 8:45 instead of 9. So get there before then, or else you'll have to order take out and it's only for the nem nuong. Overall, higher recommended!!

If you love spring roll then you got to drop by here. They make the best in all OC. The only problem is that you better find direction to this place because it is located behind a shopping center; where no one would think a restaurant would be. Another worry is, if you dont mind the waiting. Be sure to set your free time at least 20 mins because that is how long you have to wait to get your food. Not because it bad service, but it just simply too crowed. But dont worry about parking because there are plenty to pick from.
