Do not dare compare it to El Pollo Inka!
Not even close. This place knocks EPI away.

I always eat way too much here.

There are many different dishes on the menu to try but I just love the loma saltado. I order it every time I go with my family. Then we share with each other! Delicious food!

I'm a regular in the Gardena location and they're always busy! I think this is proof that their food is good if not great! Their aji sauce is just amazing. Service can be slow at times which may be due to the fact that they're almost always packed (which is still no excuse though). But when the food comes, the sheer smell of it takes all my bad moods away. My favorite is the Lomo Saltado (beef strips sauteed with onions, tomatoes, french fries, etc.). I love how they put the right amount of cilantro on the dish -- not too overpowering. And the steamed rice is just perfectly cooked (al dente if you will)! If you love peruvian food, then this place is the right place. Parking is ample as it is located inside a strip mall of sorts. But don't take my word for it -- go and try the place out for yourself!
Pros: good food, ample parking, great aji sauce!
Cons: slow service when its packed but not too big of a deal to be concerned about.

By far, El Rocoto is considered the peruvian restaurant in southern California with the best Ceviche in town. The service is always friendly and the rest of the food is just great.

I have had most things on their very large menu and I have to say that I've never been disappointed. This is a small and busy restaurant with a great and warm staff.

I love this place, and the location in Cerritos is great too. The aji (chile) sauce is out of this world. In my experience, Peruvian restaurants don't do a very good job on pasta dishes, such as Tallerin Verde con Bistec (pesto pasta with steak). But it was excellent! Major garlic, and a huge portion, enough to take home. The ceviche there is also great, much better than Don Felix or Lola's. They also poured quite a generous serving of wine. They also have sangria. Then we went to the Cerritos location. I like it even better. It is very clean and cheerful and nicely decorated. Both locations play salsa, which puts you in a good mood. My husband ordered Seco de cordero (lamb served with beans) and he said it was very soft, the best he's had in our many attempts to find good Peruvian food in LA.
Pros: food, clean atmosphere, lengthy menu
Cons: none
