My husband and I stayed here for a night for our anniversary. I got it for a great deal online and was so pleased with everything. The rooms are beautiful and the beds are very comfortable. We went in December and it was decorated beautifully. We were very pleased with this inn and would highly recommend it to anyone.

This is a good place to sit outside on different level patio and watch the surfers. There is a lower level outside bar and you can write your name on any of the walls. The food is great here wether it's soup, burgers, or seafood.

So, some friends were out attempting to get an ear piercing completed at this place. Not sure why since they overcharge at around $30 and Walmart will do it for free. Anyways, the artist and his assistant were quite rude about the entire thing, as if we were inconveniencing them at 10pm on a Tuesday by trying to get this done. Needless to say, they accept cash only and we were a little short, which provided us a nice out of the establishment.
Bottom Line: Even if you're drunk, just go further down the seawall to one of 3-4 other places.

I've enjoyed DiBellas on several occasions. The food is most excellent as well is the service. The atmosphere can't be beat! A real, old school Italian restaurant. As my date put it, "I thought Tony Soprano himself would walk in the door any minute!" The food was a tad pricey, but very good. I definitely enjoyed the experience and I will be returning!

In the same vein as Bennihana and Tokyo Steakhouse, Yamato is great food and great fun. Our entertainer/server was great, only burning us once (joke) and serving up a tasty heap of fried rice, steak and chicken. They also offer sushi at a good price, and take some home for your midnight snack. Reasonably priced for the fun and food, I would highly recommend this to locals and tourists alike.
Bottom Line: Gives Bennihana a run for the money, and probably wins the race. Be sure to have fun with it.

Queen's BBQ first came to my attention at a catered reception. It was not the typical brisket I have eaten on so many such occasions but was bursting with flavor as well as being tender 7 hot. When I found out who the caterer was, I began frequenting Queens when in Galveston and consistently find the chopped beef sandwiches on the large, fresh hamburger bun to be the best I have ever eaten. I also enjoy the beef baked potatoes. They served you a monster huge baked potato covered in barbecue beef and all the fixin. The prices are very reasonable

Coming from Austin and San Antonio, it's difficult for Galveston Mexican restaurants to measure up, but The Original gives it the old college try. The menu is pretty standard, and overpriced for the portions that are presented. However, it's relative proximity to UTMB and the cruise chips makes it a good lunch choice. If you don't want to leave the island for TexMex, you could certainly do worse than here.
Bottom Line: Decent TexMex at an inflated price. Nice atmosphere for singles, family and couples.

This is an 'upscale' restaurant, so be sure to dress appropriately, unless you're going for lunch. All in all, a strong restaurant. The chef is happy to put together things off the menu for you (make your own surf and turf, it's rather good) and you won't be disappointed with anything that you choose. The staff is knowledgeable and willing to help you select just the right wine for the meal. Best buy though is during lunch, when you get the same food for a vastly reduced price. Atmosphere is cozy but not quite casual.
Bottom Line: Great date place, or if you want to smooze the boss over lunch I say go for it.

This is by far the best Mexican place on the island. Their margaritas are good, very good. They are also very reasonably priced in the day of the $7.50 rita in Houston! The staff is always friendly and service is good. Their chips and salsa also are excellent. Try the chicken enchildas mole. Very good. I go nearly every time I'm in G-town.
Pros: food quality, price, service/staff
Cons: parking
