unbelieveably bad service from start to finish. you'd be better off going to Long John Silver for seafood.

This was by far the WORST dining experience I've suffered. Insult to injury, I grew up around La Marque/Texas City so I can honestly say I'm proud of most of the Island's establishments-- but this definitely isn't one of them.
I took my family to Miller's Landing in the early evening and were served undercooked meals (3 out of 5 items still had batter dripping from inside and the fried (???) catfish had that nice gelatin-like substance all around the inside of the crust- yummy! Not!!!) We had to have the food re-cooked after the servers agreed that it shouldn't have been served as undercooked as it was. Several days later I came down with food pois*ning compliments of the etouffe.
The manager refused to give back even partial credit for the heinous meals saying he served over a hundred meals that day but did kindly offer us a FREE meal whenever we went back. Thanks-- but NO thanks.
A complaint was also filed w/the BB and B after the manager refused to be reasonable. My suggestion-- if you want better food and better service-- go to Landry's, Sonic, or Jack in the Box, or your nearest dumpster.
I'd strongly suggest any who don't wish to become ill to steer clear of this "restaurant".
Pros: The waitstaff genuinely tried to correct an already bad situation.
Cons: Very poor food quality, conducive to illn*ss.

Our party of six order a wide variety of foods. Reactions by meal order are:
Country Fried Steak dinner was rated good.
Club Sandwich basket was rated good
Flounder platter rated dismal, fish did not taste at all like flounder, was dry, overcooked and horrible.
Fisherman platter with fish and shrimp and gumbo.. Fish was tasteless and dry, shrimp was ok, gumbo was good.
Catfish platter rated poor. Fish same as other, dry, tasteless.
Shrimp 16, shrimp was OK.
Tartar sauce was found offensive by all. Red sauce (cocktail sauce for fish) tasted like ketchup with a few dull spices added in.
Okra was chewy and tough, Poorly prepared.
Waitress tried very hard, but service was only fair. Took an hour after sitting down to get meals on table.
OH yeah, the french fries were really good, so if you dont mind paying !00 dollars for sandwiches and fries you will love this place. WE DID NOT!
And yes we are experts on seafood having eaten it in dozens of seafood restaurants for 50 years.
Pros: Good wait staff, nice atmosphere
Cons: Poor cooks, NO available parking, bad seafood

I was seated for 10 minutes before being given menus. My boyfriend had fried flounder which he did not eat because it was so bad. I had fried shrimp which was average. The waiters were defintaly not attentative, and we waited 20 minutes after finishing our meals before receiving our checks. The service was horrible, and the food even worse. Eat anywhere else in Galveston.
Cons: Bad food, Crowded, Bad Service

Limited parking! Foul smell in parking lot! Cramped seating! The fish was not that good although the Chicken Fried Steak and vegetables were excellent. Long wait to receive our food and even a longer wait to receive our check. While waiting for our check, the general manager was hustling around looking for available seating while the waitresses were talking across the room "table so and so looks like they are about to leave". When the people next to us finished their meal and let, the waitress that cleared the table picked up a saucer of 4 condiments that had not been used. While I could not hear exactly what was being said, it was obvious that they were discussing the fact that the condiments had not been used. One waitress said, "Yes, definately" and then placed the saucer next to the computer station where she begin typing in orders. After that, she took the saucer and took it to the kitchen counter and and put it down. I was completely sickened by the thought that they were going to reuse it! Obviously, from reading the other reviews this is the norm for Miller's Landing. I will never eat there again!

I went to Miller's Landing on Saturday, July 1, 2006. The fish that I was served was so tough I had to use a knife to cut into it. It was like rubber. When I complained, I was treated as though I had done something wrong. They adjusted my bill by half and I was not satisfied with that because I only ate a couple of bites of the meal. As I was paying, I saw and heard the waitress hand the plate back to the kitchen and tell the cook to cut it up and put it in the gumbo.

We were very impressed with this place. For the price you can't beat it. I think it made it that much more enjoyable knowing we were getting a great deal. We ate for under $8 each and had so much food we could barely eat 1/2 of it. It was delicious too. Not sure how it is now, this was years ago and I think they have since remodeled. We'll be trying it again soon!

You can't get a better combination of value, good food, and friendly cheerful service in Galveston. We especially love the fried catfish fingers ($7.99 gets you four + sides) and "The 16" shrimp special. Also, don't miss breakfast -- available anytime! And of course, you have a Gulf view across the Seawall.
GLBT diners: Miller's is a winner of the Houston Outsmart readers poll. Always friendly to all.
