We only ate out twice when we visited Galveston last week for 3 days and both times we ate at Casey's. I was quite impresses with the freshness of the salads and the servers were super, super nice. The entrees were good and the kids menu portions were generous enough that 2 could share. Actually, if I had known my daughter's hamburger was going to be full-size, I would have just shared with her and skipped my entree completely.
IF YOU EAT HERE SAVE ROOM FOR DESSERT. Or at the very least, get it to go. I tried the Key Lime Pie (rich, creamy, and tangy) and the Seven Layers of Heaven (their chocolate cake). Oh how I wish we were not 600 miles from that cake. I'd eat celery and egg whites every day for lunch if I could have that cake once a week.
We ate out on the patio both times and were pleased with the experiece. I think it is a great way to get a taste of Gaido's with a fraction of the price.

I can't comment on the food here because we never got to eat more than the salad. This place was unbelievably dirty. My husband killed a fly at our table as soon as we got there. The waitress had to wipe down his chair and side of the table just so he could sit down. Then he has to brush dirt off the tomato on his salad and as a final insult, his gumbo came with a large chunk of caardboard in it. Needless to say we left and would never return there again.

We heard TONs of rave over this restaurant and all we saw were extreme prices and the food was not that great. It was average food that was way overpriced. I wasn't sure what all the hype was and why everyone is so in love with the food here. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing or went when they were having an off day, but we were NOT impressed.

This is the best kept secret in Galveston. Cheap, right on the beach, clean, quiet. Everything you want without breaking the bank. Be sure to check for coupons they offer to make your stay cheaper. Ocean view rooms are a little more money. I prefer the interior court as you get to park your vehicle in the courtyard where it is much more secure. Gaidos famous seafood restaurant is right next door. So is Caseys seafood. Both are highly touted as the best seafood in Galveston.

Well, what more is there to say, besides be sure to bring your credit card. This is the mainstay on Galveston Island for great seafood and steak. Always fresh and tasty, locals and tourists alike use this place to measure against all others. The only downside is the price, which can be rather hefty. So, be sure to head over for a special occassion, or if you have money to burn.
Bottom Line: Great food at a hefty price; wonderful view as it is located on seawall.
