I'm telling you, there's nothing like this anywhere else in the country. I used to eat here when i was in Medical School in Galveston in the 70's, and, in retrospect, I had no idea how fortunate I was. i've had the boston, the austin, the chicago, and the new york pizza, and nothing can compare with Mario's Flying Pizza. I also miss all the girls I used to date in Galveston, lol, hope you gals are married, have kids, and are doing well!!! Pros: BEST PIZZA IN THE COUNTRY--HOW DO THEY DO IT???? Cons: NONE!

We had family drive in from up North and needed somewhere to accommodate 15 people including kids. I live here on the island and have come to Mario's on the Seawall for over 6 years. The food was amazing and service was attentive. We also had the owner and the General Manager come visit our table that night. My out of town family members called and have raved about Mario's every since they have left. When they come visit this is the first place they want to stop and eat.My mother-in-law says that this is like home away from home.

I went to Mario's Seawall Italian Restaurant with my wife and kids this past weekend and thought they did a great job. It was busy and bustling. My waiter told me the specials. I had the Lobster Ravioli's, which I was told won an award recently, I would have given them one too, they were great. My wife had the fried shrimp, which she said were as good as hers. The boys had pizza, they ate about 2/3 and took the rest back to the hotel. They are picky eaters. I would say they impressed me and my family.

Mary and I visited on Friday night and the venue was quite pleasant on the off season complete with lovely view of the beach and gulf. We sipped the house Chianti, great, and shared an appetizer and an entree. This was no problem for our charming waiter Eric. We began with the calamari which took a very long time to arrive. Eric was on the case, noticed the delay and followed up with the kitchen. The calamari showed up, followed almost immediately with our entree Eggplant Parm. The calamari was tasty and lightly breaded. The eggplant was delicious as well as was the accompanying pasta with red sauce. The only drawback was our seating -- in a center aisle -- where I was repeatedly bumped by a waiter as he bustled past. Once I called out "excuse me!" after he almost knocked me out of my chair! He replied with a glare. Again, Eric was on the case and spoke to him. He avoided our table after that. I recommend Mario's especially before sunset when you can enjoy the food and the scenary as well. Pros: view, tasty entrees Cons: getting bumped! slow arrival of food

This dinner was a disaster from start to finish. Our party of 12 arrived about 2 minutes late and they had already pulled apart our tables. Our waitress was new and completely out of her depth... I saw the host/manager talk to her a couple times but never give her a hand. We had a vegetarian who got meat sauce. Sent it back and they must have scraped off the sauce because it came back with meat still on it. One entree never made it to the table. Another vegetarian who got peperoni on her pizza, the waitress suggested can't you just pick it off? I had a crack in my glass and asked for a new one (on my premium margarita) the waitress said if it wasn't leaking, I didn't need a new one!!! The place was jammed with people who seemed content with bad service and bad food, so if this describes you, check out Mario's!
