It has just been over one year since this scammer ripped me off by overcharging me for repairing my four wheel drive by about double. Then long after we had returned home, he put two charges thru my credit card for a total of $4000. Needless to say, I got the money back from my credit card company.
I have no idea how this crook stays in business. He is certainly not honest and has absolutely no business ethics. I wish him nothing but bankruptcy.

This shop is the worse in town. Not only does the owner charge for things he does not do but he charges for parts that he does not replace. For example: he was to change the transmission on a 79 honda accord for 2900 dollars. He just painted the old transmission and replace the oil. The owner of this shop should be in jail!!

We brought our car to Car Care Center for years for repairs and regular maintenance. The prices are affordable and the service is very reliable and the turnaround time was reasonable. I have confidence in this business because they have proven to us over the years that they aren't out to gouge us each time we come in, but rather they build their business on trust so that you come back again and again.

I was in galveston for the weekend and my car broke down. i called the car care center and they towed me to the shop for free. the manager was so nice to me and my mom, he seemed to know what he was doing , he looked good and spoke nicely.his uniform was clean and he actually smelled real good. he fixed my car the same day and the price was very reasonable. i will always go back to that shop if i was going to travel to galveston just to say hello.they have proving to me that they are always busy for a good reason.Highly recommended.

My experience sounds very similar to others posted. STEVE who is the owner, told me my car needed a fuel pump, and since I was stuck there for the weekend ,could put one in that day for $900. Knew that was too much money, but figured otherwise I would have to rent a car, etc, and thus would pay the $900. Turns out a new fuel pump is $200 for my car. But, he did not put a fuel pump in at all. When I tried to get paperwork from STEVE to get the money refunded through the extended warranty at MY dealership, STEVE continued to lie to me that the computer was down, his secretary out, his dog died, the world was coming to an end, you name it, but could never produce any paperwork to back up that he had put in a new fuel pump. Of course, since he didn't. I found that out, after taking it to MY mechanic. He had merely replaced the filter, a $5 item. He just collected $900 for a a $5 dollar part. This man gives new meaning to the words crook and trailer trash. Hopefully one of those Texas tornadoes will end his business for him, if it can't be done through litigation. He should NOT be in business. Society needs to be protected from people like him.

We were in Galveston for the weekend and our SUV wouldn't start at our hotel on Sunday morning. We called Car Care Center to pick up our vehicle. I went with the vehicle to the shop. Steve the manager and mechanic did a test and told me that I needed a new fuel pump. He told me that a new fuel pump for our SUV was $724 and with two other parts at $9.99 and $17.99 and $225 for labor and then adding tax my bill was going to be $1,052 and change. I contacted my wife and her friend who was with us told me to call an auto parts store and check the price of the part. I called a place and they quoted me the pump at $269. I then told them that we were going to try and have the vehicle towed by a friend the next day or day after. The lady told me that would be alright if it wasn't more than a day or two. The manager Steve then told me that if they weren't doing the work the vehicle could not stay on the lot. Steve then told me that he could do the work for $875 total. We also asked them if we could purchase the part at the auto parts store and have him install it. He said that he was not going to do that. We were pretty much locked into having them fix the vehicle, because if we would have the vehicle towed somewhere else we would still have to pay them $190 for looking at the vehicle and towing. We would then have to pay someone else to tow the vehicle, another night at a hotel, a rental car for a day, and then pay someone else to fix the vehicle. We were basically held up without a gun. And then to top off the day, when the vehicle was fixed we had to pay $875 plus tax for a total of $947 when we were told we could drive off the lot for $875. I am totally outraged by this company and frustrated that I was forced to pay $400 to $500 dollars more that I should have. This place is feeding off of hardworking individuals that happen to take their vehicles to them. I want as many

I just moved recently to the Galveston area and my Oldsmobile needed
A/C service because it was low on Freon (R12) and I had no license to
do this myself.
I turned to Car Care Center, service manager Steve and asked for complete discharge,
evacuation, and charging the system with (R12) or equivalent Freeze 12, since the stuff was in there for 12 years.
He quoted me $ 169, without Tax, because R12 Freon is about $30 per pound and I needed 2 1/2 lbs.
Still very steep since other shops charge $ 35 plus the freon to recharge it.
I decided to go ahead and later regretted my decision.
I am a Mechanical Engineer by trade and could have performed
this operation myself, if I had a license.
Everything and Anything that could go wrong happened.
While I was present he hooked up a manifold with gauges to the system.
The High side gauge was not hooked up because he had no coupling
to fit the system.
The Low side gauge was broken and did not register any vacuum
while evacuating.
He also discharged and evacuated at the same time to the OPEN
AIR with a vacuum pump.(Against EPA regulations)
With this procedure he did not only evacuated moisture from the
receiver/dryer, but also OIL for the compressor which should be
replenished before charging.
He also should have checked any remaining pressure at the High
side, since he had no gauge hooked up.
All this was not done and he was ready to charge the system with
an incompatible and much cheaper R22 gas.
I protested this because the system was not designed for R22.
He charged it in spite of that and he few seconds later the compressor
ceased.
Instead of adding OIL to the system, which I mentioned, to make matters worse he tighten the drive belt to the compressor clutch.
Since the compressor was rattling because of the abuse, he told me
that a bearing was out on the compressor and would not give me any
warranty
He only charged 2 cans of R22 (

I took my car in for repairs almost a year ago and am still doing everything I can to share my unfortunate incident with Car Care Center to defer others from enduring what I had to to through. First, I gave my Volkswagan Beetle in for repairs due to my temperature sign flashing. Because, I panicked I drove into the 1st repair shop I saw, which was Car Care Center. Dean Aylousef was the 1st person I spoke with who diagnosed the car as a bad water pump after 1 week of having the car. I trusted that the water pump was replaced with a new one and was ready to be driven. Wrong! Dean then claimed that the Head Gasket need to be replaced. Post having the car for 3 weeks, he kept feeding me exscuses of why the car is not repaired. Finally, I had it towed to the nearest Volkswagan Dealership. Within 1 day they diagnosed my car as having an old water pump. The part that Dean and his mechanics were supposed to replace with a new one. This faulty part was rusted and obviously used. Then, the dealership looked into the head gasket and after their thurough research discovered that it was working great and did not need any repairs!! Thirdly, I filed a small claims court against Car Care Center and took Dean to court. The judge reimbursed me for the faulty waterpump, however I was not reimbursed for the rental car fees, my flight ticket to Texas to sue this deceiving mechanic who lacks business ethics, honesty, and consideration! PLEASE, DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO CAR CARE CENTER!!!!!!

On 2 separate occaisions I have had bad experiences with this repair shop. The owner and his manager are NOT to be trusted.I spent over $900.00 for a water pump and timing chain that was never replaced. Then, I paid over $380.00 to have a vacuum leak fixed that was not done. My "check engine" light kept coming on. After 1 week of bringing my car back & forth for them to"fix" this problem I ended up at the dealership. I found out all the belts and hoses, etc. were the originals. The vaccum leak was fixed for $40.00. There was no evidence that my timing chain or water pump had ever been touched. I called the place where Dean, the owne,r said he bought my new parts. There was no record of any parts being sold to him, or his manager Steve. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE !!!!!
Pros: very friendly , gives reasonable quotes
Cons: work not done as promised, hidden costs, too long to complete work
