what a waste of $60. i went here with my date expecting a non-corporate, unique dining experience. what a letdown. we arrived at the restaurant early, around 6pm. the dining room was decorated typical of a fried fish dive bar, complete with dusty nets and ropes. i tried to set this aside and hope for amazing food, which would nullify the setting. we looked at the menu and noticed the outstanding prices, which in a way excited me into thinking that these dishes were worth the asked price. i took a chance with the sesame encrusted tuna, and my date opted for the stuffed grouper. the drinks came on time along with some brown bread and butter. pumpernickel and butter?? how cheap and uncreative. the tossed salads were mountainous, which could be considered a plus, but i don't want to fill up on a boring salad before my main dish. my tuna was chewy despite ordering it medium. it had gristle and did not melt in your mouth like other seafood restaurants. i usually order tuna rare, but the looks of this place made me want it cooked more. the wasabi sauce was salty and basically tasted like somebody heated up soy sauce with wasabi and mixed it around. my date's stuffed grouper was a liquid mess. sauteed spinach in milk and parmesan cheese. gross. made the poor grouper hang it's head in shame. i would review the side items but by this time it is futile. i did not want dessert either. so long northwest grille. i would eat fast food before visiting you again. the server was friendly and helpful
Pros: air conditioned
Cons: pricey, low food quality, uncomfortable dining room

I have been going to Northwest Grille since it opened. Chef Fennell has nightly specials which are tasty and reasonably priced. Recently, the menu was revamped and there is a whole section of items for $7. I love the seafood specials, mussels, steaks, and duck. The cheesecake is made in-house and always delicious too! The bar makes a mean cosmo. Thanks Chef Chris!

Northwest Grille is a little pricey but the fish is fresh and the presentation and preparation are great. Food is always tasty. Service is great. Outside of the college town part of Gainesville.

I hav said before on this site I am in a wheel chair and I try to save gas by not driving far from home (yes, I drive it's a special set up but it works). Anyway, Northwest Grille has the freshest fish. I found out they freshly batter each fish and chips that goes out. Very impressive. Dinner is a good value for about $16 you can get any entree with a side and salad. Homemade desserts were good, a peanut butter brownie warmed with some vanilla-carmel ice cream.
Pros: Fresh fish, friendly service
Cons: Older bathrooms

I have been a regular here for years and the owner died last year. His kids took over and are doing a great job. The food is top-notch. The service is near perfect- that review about bad service is from 2004. Why is it still on here? Isn't there a statue of limitations? ANyhow, the atmosphere is casual, but the portions are huge and the fish is always fresh. Try the new smoked mahi dip as an appetizer. Just put out $7 lunch specials too- fresh fried pollock fish and chips is all-you-can-eat... amazing!

I went to Northwest Grille because I have been hearing how great the food was. We went after 8 pm and the resturant was not busy. We were seated right away. After sitting there for over 5 minutes a waitress finally came over to tell us that our waitress would be over shortly. Didn't ask us if we wanted anything to drink. Then we waited for over 5 more minutes and no one gave us any recognition for sitting there. For there pricey food there was very POOR service. We got up and left. We won't be back no matter how good the food is suppose to be.
