This hotel was pretty nice. Clean hotel, nice friendly staff. Rooms were clean but toilet was flushing slowly at night but fine the next day. There was no shampoo, soap etc in my room or my friends room. No clocks, which we found kind of odd. There was a small arcade for the kids and a pool.

The Fullerton Amtrak Station will probably always be one of my favorite starting points. The colonial meets early California bungalow architecture blends in with the area and reflects a calmer time when Fullerton was actually a town surrounded by orange groves and ranches. The station serves both Metrolink and Amtrak. Metrolink tickets are purchased outside from a machine, Amtrak tickets are purchased inside at the window. (This may change in the future.) Train employees are friendly, knowledgeable and ready to help it needed. If going south (or east), climb the stairs and take the bridge to the other side of the tracks. The snack bar isn't much to speak of, but the retired train guys who meet there in the morning sometimes for coffee just give the depot more atmosphere.
Fullerton prides itself on free parking, but depending on the time of day, you may have to park in the multi-storied parking garage. Again, read the signs and follow directions because things change.
Everyone should take a train trip at least once, even if it's only to a destination an hour away, before we lose the chance completely.

We were close enough to Disneyland for us and it was only a 5 minute drive away and the freeways are good through here. We got a good deal as well, so that was nice.

My room had a wood smoke smell to start with. I opened the window but the smell didn't clear out. The air conditioner didn't help either. The electric outlet in the bathroom didn't work so I couldn't use the coffee maker or hair dryer. I told the desk and they said someone would fix it, but they didn't.

I would highly recommend the Marriott-Fullerton Cal State hotel. It is clean, the staff is very friendly and rates competitive. We have been staying there off and on for the last five years.

Chase Suites was recommended to me and I loved it. A really nice size room with a heart shaped jacuzzi right in the bedroom. There is a separate living room and the beds are huge. Expect to pay around 200 and up and if it is near a holiday such as Valentine's Day book well in advance

The Ambassador Hotel has seen better days. When we pulled up to the hotel it made me nervous - as you arrive you feel you are staying at an old hotel in a seedy part of town - the entrance has absolutely no ambiance and as we went into the lobby it got worse.
