This Pizza Place is a diamond in the rough. Great family cooked Italian food at fair prices. You can't beat this place for price and food quality. Not the place for a first date, but there's no better place in the area for a casual Italian meal with your family and/or friends. Nothing better in the area in terms of real Italian cookery.

From appetizer to main dish, King Yum ranks the best of all Chinese restaurants I have been. I love the pu-pu platter (or however you spell it, I forget). It is never that crowded probably because parking is difficult. Sometimes the service is a little snooty, but I overlook that because the food is so good.

People from all over the borough and city come to Carol's. Since I have lived here, it has expanded twice, and now it really has a great selection of merchandise. There re lots of things for teachers and parents alike. Yet it is a family store, so you can find a knowledgeable person to ask for what you can't find. The prices are not cheap, but neither is the merchandise. This is good quality stuff. You will find things here that you do not find in a toy store. definitely an asset to the community. Street parking is not easy, but I think there is a little bit behind the store.

Fantastic location. My boyfriend introduced me to this gem hidden in the rough about a year ago and it has stolen my heart. My only gripe? It's slightly off the beaten path. Not a place you would find in your typical travels, it's about 2 blocks off Utopia Pkwy, about 4 blocks south of the LIE. I have yet to be disappointed by anything on their menu, and the people there are sweet. Highly recommended dishes are the Taco Ole (especially for you meat eaters, you'll be PLEASANTLY surprised), the Mediterranean Platter and the Small Wood Salad. As I said there is not a meal on the menu that doesn't sound scrumtpious, and the prices are so reasonable, you'd be foolish not to go.
PLEASE SUPPORT THIS DINING VENUE, ZEN PALATE IN WESTBURY CLOSED!!
Although this place has been around for decades, I'd be devastated if it disappeared too.
Now if they could just get a location in Northern Bayside...

There was no cover until recently (it's only $5 though) - I went Fri 6/11. Music is so dance-able that even without a dance floor, I can still do it up. It's been uncrowded (few or none people on the sofas; all the ppl were at the bar) all 3 times that I've gone. It's good compared to some lounges in the city, like Home, cuz dancing at B & T, I don't get elbowed or have to stop every 5 mins to let ppl thru.
Pros: Good music, Easy to find parking, Inexpensive
Cons: , No dance floor

This is a great local restaurant. The food is fresh and delicious. Their guacamole makes me drool and there are plenty of options for vegetarians (like me). The portions are huge. The service is quick and friendly and the decor is very nice. They also have tanks with an iguana and a silly tequila museum. I've been there three times now and I definitely intend to go back.

I eat here all the time. This is my default restaurant, I know if I eat here the food will not disappoint. Love the olives and bread which are complimentary while you wait for your order. The staff is very friendly. Not a long wait for food at all. The prices are very reasonable because it's located near to St. John's University. If you have a large group you can call ahead to reserve a table. Definitely visit if you are in the neighborhood. Outdoor seating during summer months. Even though it's kinda small, I've never had to wait for a table.
Pros: For casual dining, Great value, Great Food
Cons: Tables too close together
