This was the absolute worst chinese dining experience I've ever had in my 37 years of existence, My local take out hole in the wall has them beat by miles as far as food quality, I understand the novelty of the place but the food is horrible, service was offensive and again did I mention the food was HORRIBLE!!, best part about the whole thing was leaving. DO NOT GO THERE!. This is a place for people who reminisce their childhood and place no importance on the quality of the food. AGAIN DON'T GO!! Pros: You get to walk away! Cons: Deceptive Appearance

It is never that crowded probably because parking is difficult. Sometimes the service is a little snooty, but I overlook that because the food is so good.

King Yum has been filling the tummies of northeast Queens since the Eisenhower administration. This place is an icon of the combination plate/family dinner Cantonese specials. Generations have been nourished on their egg rolls, spare ribs, fried rice, shrimp and lobster sauce, chow mein, etc. Not to mention having imbibed on countless cocktails with colorful umbrellas. The old standard fares well in the new century. Stick to the basics and you won't be disappointed. In a world that is swamped with all new fusions of Asian gastronomic fare, it is comofting to rfeturn to the comfort Chinese food of our youth...and no one does that better than King Yum. I've been here a few times, and it's definitely one of my favorite places to eat. Their hot and sour soup and duck dishes are excellent!! I don't have any complaints about service, and the parking is great. Unknowingly, I did go to karaoke night once, and I absolutely disliked the dinner experience. It was so loud that I couldn't hear myself talk, and my friends and I had to almost scream to talk to each other. Make sure not to go to the karaoke night, unless it's something you want to do. Pros: Good Parking, Decent Prices, Great Food Cons: Karaoke Nights

Went years ago to karoake night. Hostess/owner or general manager was so rude I almost didn't go in. She screamed at us "$10 per person - okay!!!" 5 or 6 times as though we were retards. I was very embarrassed. Then the waiter was rushing us through all our mediocre food - hovering and taking our plates while we were still holding a fork. A friend recently asked about their karoake so I made a call for her to find out they still had it on Fridays. I swear I got the same rude woman on the phone - she screams "Yes it's $15 per person plus tax&tip - minimum, so 2 of you $30 plus tax and gratuity!!" She's just too abrasive for me, or maybe she's hard of hearing. Well, karaoke or not, I won't be back to King Yum. Some things never change.
