I have been to this place twice now and having read some of the negative reviews beforehand I wasn't sure what to expect. Walking in there I was really impressed with the set-up of the store. As to some people commenting on the smell of the place: I was expecting a strong stench, but it really isn't any worse than what you would encounter at Petco in the reptile section.Considering they have hundreds of heated reptile cages of all sizes and a huge pont in the middle of a relatively small showroom it really is quiet good. It's simply what normally comes with keeping reptiles. I am not a herpetologist or pet expert at any rate but I didn't have the impression any animals were improperly cared for or even sick. The store was quiet busy both times and groups of children were sitting in little class rooms watching demonstrations by the staff. if anything I was a bit worried about the freeroaming tortoise getting pushed around by some of the children at one time. Not sure about what the return policy is (someone commented). All in all I was quiet impressed with their fun and entertaining approach to running a pet store. I am looking forward to taking my little daughter there some day soon, I'm sure she will have a great time.

I have gone to this place a few times to see what they had in stock. I am a reptile breeder and very aware of reptile and amphibian care requirements. The last time I went there, around 2 months ago, the cages where disgusting and most of the lizards very skinny. They had a 4 foot iguana in a tiny cage, it couldn't even turn around. Quite a few snakes and lizards had visible mites, mouth rot, and some toads had the dreaded fungus growing on them which was eating away their skin. I informed the manager about the toads and he just shrugged. This place makes me so sad. I wish they would at least feed the animals and give them a clean cage. Avoid this place if you plan to buy, or if you care about reptiles well being.

My family bought me a snake and a habitat starter kit which included a very informative snake care book. I read the book and quickly realized that I didn't have the time to properly care for the snake as I am an animal lover. My family picked up the snake on X-Mas Eve --- I returned the snake on Dec. 26. The first thing the owner said was, the cage is dirty --- its used. I showed him the receipt that my family had just picked it up on X-Mas Eve --- the snake had not eaten yet! They ended up refusing to refund my money and would only issue me store credit after much protest. A terrible place to do business with --- not a reputable return policy!!!

The place is great. Wide selection with lots of animals to come look at and buy. The smell is tolerable (although the fish pond is filthy) and the prices decent but the staff isn't that knowledgeable. The staff is either rude or just answers questions without really knowing and if you call them on it they get really condescending. But I am not there to chat up the staff so by inventory standards they rock. I bring my nephew just to browse the big snakes and lizards. Just remember if you have something important you need answered, go/call somewhere else. As one staff member told me today, Just because they sell pets doesn't mean they're experts.

This is a fun place to buy a pet or just to visit. They have every kind of reptile imaginable. You can feed some of the animals and they even have birthday parties there.

Okay, when I think of this place I immediately think of how bad it smells when you first walk in. Other than that, they have a huge selection of reptiles to either look at or buy. I bought a chameleon there. They had a cage full of baby chameleons and they were too cute to pass up.
They also do parties and stuff for kids. Looks like fun, if you're not afraid of big snakes.

I recently got the chance to head out to Orange County and browse through this establishment. Given the array of specimens they boast, I was excited until I walked inside. First, the place smelled like an unclean fish bowl, and animal feces. There were quite a few abnormalities on their animals, including an abscess on a striped African Rock python's head, one eyed Brooks King snake, and a Burmese with a full blown case of mouth rot. The bedding in each cage looked like the animals had defecated, and rather than replace the bark, the feces had been picked out repeatedly, leaving contaminated bedding to grow bacteria. A male associate was dragging a water monitor into the back room for a temporary relocation, and when the monitor flicked his tongue out, the associate grabbed it teasing the animal and asking do you want it back. And a female associate showed us their Ghost Honduran milk snake, that was plainly an Anerythistic specimen with heavy solid black bands and tipping. IMHO, this store is built on shock factor, and is a circus for the average person. If you know a lot about reptiles and their proper care requirements, plan on being thoroughly repulsed. They take great pictures though.

I love this place. For as many reptiles as they have, the smell is at a tolerable level. There is some smell but for the volume of critters, its not bad in comparison to Reptile Island that only has a wall full of cages.
All cages were clean and the reptiles are in are good health. I love the pond and they have a friendly monitor that roams around. The staff allow you hold their reptiles and they answer all your questions-Very knowledgeable staff.
They have almost everything you need to set up a vivarium and they make custom cages as well. They have some used custom cages at a resonable prices.
The friendly staff will help you decide which reptile is best for you. If you do not see what you want on display, just ask. They may have what you are looking for in the back. One staff person told me he had over 5,000 snakes alone in the back-so just ask!
Be Patient though, they are super busy from selling reptiles to selling a few crickets.

i have bought a iguana there, she wasnt taken very good care of she came home with mites, we do vist there alot.they still have insects in the cages and most of the reptiles have mites, i understand its hard to clean the mites, but still you would think sense its a pet store they would atleast try and clean up the cages, they do feed the animals well though, my iguana was very tame, but i was sad to see the houseing that they have the bigger animals in.
Pros: they are very helpfull
Cons: they need to clean the cages better
