Joe T. Garcia's is definitely worth finding. The first time I tried to find it I got lost. When we finally found it I was surprised how busy it was. We arrived early enough that we didn't have to wait(though I would and have stood in line for an hour to get in). The two dishes they serve at dinner are great! Don't go to Joe T's looking to order the same thing as you order at every other restaurant. You receive so much food with the enchiladas or the fajitas. The food is so good and so fresh my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
I have heard some complain about the noise and all of the happenings that are going on. Just enjoy it. The atmosphere should be enjoyed and appreciated. It wouldn't be Joe T's without it.
I take all my guests to Joe T. Garcia's when they come to town.

Joe T. Garcia's on the northside of Ft. Worth has been around since the 1930's and his still operated by the family who started. Native Ft. Worth-ians either love it or hate it. Some people refuse to eat there; others insist on the office holiday party being there every year.
The place has expanded and expanded so that it has a beautiful patio and pool area, outside covered party rooms, fountains and gardens as well as the main restuarant. Simply gorgeous to look at in the Spring.
At Joe T.'s, you want to order the regular dinner (which used to be the only option). Your plate is filled with enchiladas served right of the pan. Communal plates of rice and beans, puffy taccos and those famous flat tortilla nachos are served family style.
You might want a margarita, but just drink one. They taste like candy but have a big punch.
Joe T.'s is the perfect place to soak in the Ft.Worth atmosphere and be a little part of one the city's most historic attractions.

You cannot live in the DFW area and not try Joe T's! It is fun and loud, and the food is always fresh and hot. You can only get two things at dinner: the family dinner (enchiladas, nachos, and tacos) or fajitas. Get the family dinner!! The fajitas are not their specialty. Great, great margaritas!

This is a very touristy place that has a great atmosphere with the patio and everything. The brunch is amazing, but the dinners (only two choices) are fine, but I've had better. They also only take cash or personal checks, which is rare these days, so be prepared. The food choices for dinner are fajitas or enchiladas with a taco, that's it. You pick one of the other.
Be prepared to wait in very long lines on the weekends. Margaritas are great! This place is a Ft. Worth institution just south of the stockyards, which is probably why the tourists like it so much!

We love going to Joe T's to sit outside around the pool have a drink and great food! The wait staff is wonderful and very helpful.
For the first timers, they don't take credit cards- so bring cash. And there is no menu- they give you a choice of fajitas and enchiladas. They both are wonderful!
The atmosphere is wonderful .. you might have a wait on the weekends but it is worth it!

This is a great place to eat mexican food. You can sit outside on the huge patio. There is all kinds of tropical plants and trees . If you are wanting to have a big party this is the place to go. In the back there is a huge room that is great for a large get together. Usually on the weekends there is a large line to get in but it is definetly worth the wait.

There isn't anything I would change about Joe T. Garcias. The outside of the building looks like just another ramshackle business in Fort Worth, but once you get through the front door, and if it's a Friday or Saturday night that could take awhile, you find yourself in a huge garden with several plazas, fountains, and a swimming pool. (No actual swimming in the pool, unfortunately. Our waiter told us that a dip in the pool equals a rapid exit from the restaurant.)
There is no menu. You can choose to have fajitas or enchiladas, accompanied by anything from one of their bars. You can tell that the wait staff likes working there. They're attentive, fast and friendly; our waiter asked us if we wanted our food right away or if we needed some time to enjoy our margaritas.
They are also open for lunch. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons they have a breakfast buffet that I'm assured is excellent, although I haven't gotten a chance to go check it out yet.
Bring cash or your check book, though, they don't accept credit cards. We figured out that this is all part of their plan to keep their costs down. The price is very reasonable.
Spending time in Joe T. Garcia's gardens, hanging out with friends and having great food is the perfect end to a day.
