Lots of exercise as it is a large zoo with many exhibits. They had the dinoroar which my kids really enjoyed. The parrot haven is amazing. The birds fly and eat off sticks right around you. We have the family membership and it is worth every penny of it. Speaking of pennies they also have various machines located throughout the zoo that smashes and puts imprints of animals. Gives kids something to collect without spending lots of money. Nice souvenier shops.

Our Fort Worth Zoo is really one of the best attractions in my opinion. I really love the new additions, the atmosphere, and the whole experience. One of the most amazing times to go to the Zoo is in October when they do "Boo at the Zoo." The kids ( and adults) love it. Our daughter will be one this year and we look forward to taking her to "Boo at the Zoo." If you haven't been it the Zoo since you were a kid, you are missing out.

A Zoo in the middle of a beautiful park. That is what the Fort Worth Zoo is. You can see animals as you walk among trees and different habitats. It is a great day and very cheap for all the fun you get. Check out the Texas section for animals that are native to Texas. They have a lot of programs for kids including Boo at the Zoo! The staff at the zoo is great!

Fort Worth's Zoo is one of the best zoos in the United States. They keep the zoo looking it's best at all times. They have a very active breeding program and you can almost always see the results of that with little baby animals in the zoo. There are a lot of little gift shops and food spots. The food is average for a zoo and actually is very good. The grounds are large but laid out very well. Everything was very clean and great. They also have Boo at the Zoo and Christmas Lights at the zoo which are both a lot of fun!

I love the Fort Worth Zoo! It is laid out wonderfully and you can start at the beginning where you buy tickets and wrap around the zoo going from exhibit to exhibit until you end up at the end of the zoo back where you started from. It flows very well and you get to see everything. The elephants and the texas are are the best. The food is a little expensive but you can get your hand stamped and go get something and then come back to the zoo.

This is the best Zoo in town. The kids always enjoy going. They offer plenty of extras through out the year also such as over night stays, summer camps, learning camps, Boo @ the Zoo, and more. Don't just take a trip to the zoo add a tour or sign your kids up for a summer camp. They offer so much that most people don't even know about. Research the web site and it tells you the current events. I do think that the season passes are a little expensive, so go on a 1/2 price day.

We went to the Fort Worth zoo this summer and LOVED it. There was lots to do for the entire family. The landscape was nicely kept. There were lots of neat shops and restaurants to go into. You could easily see all the animals and there were plenty of employees walking around to help you out. We had a great time and my 2 year old has been asking to go back. There were a lot of neat animal statues to take pictures on. We were very pleased with the zoo and plan to go back next year.

The Fort Worth zoo is the kind of place that you always wanted to go to when you were a child. Not only do they have every sort of animal that a child wants to see -- lions, tigers, bear, oh my -- but the exhibits are nicely done. It minimizes the intrusion onto the animals but still allows you to see them.
I was a little disappointed in their Great Barrier Reef exhibit. For awhile they had every highway in DFW plastered with signs advertising it, but it turned out to be just a few tanks with fairly common fish. My husband's tank is almost more impressive.
I'm also disappointed that they don't have reciprocity with the Dallas zoo. I think it's done that way so that both zoos can maximize memberships, but it's too bad that you have to choose one or the other.
