This place is an outdoor lovers extravaganza!! If ever there was a fun place to shop, this is it! From a seemingly humble facade, this store huge and is packed with everything the outdoor enthusiast could ask for. Hiking, camping, fishing, cycling, hunting, clothing, even lodge-type housewares... AND a coffee bar! We don't even live in Fort Collins, but every time we pass through we try to stop at Jax. We ALWAYS buy something!

I went in here yesterday to get some Disc Golf Frisbees, and I was astounded at the selection. They must have had more than 100 different discs, in every imaginable weight and color. And, prices were the same or cheaper than some of the chain stores like Garts. Plus, the sales staff is very knowledgeable and helpful, and they have used discs if you just want to get a crappy one for water holes or whatever. They also have snowboarding and skateboarding stuff, which I will check out later. I would recommend heading here if you need anything I've mentioned.

Foot of the Rockies does a nice job catering to the new, inexperienced runner. We have problem feet and the staff did a great job running tests to help us find the best fit for our running needs. The price was higher than larger stores, but ther service made the experience worth it. Thanks!

EPIC (the Edora Pool Ice Center) is located at 1801 Riverside Ave., and is a perfect place to spend a good part of your summer. Besides the swimming area (offering a very large shallow pool, a very large 'warm pool/jacuzzi', lanes for lap swimming, a diving area, and a 4.5 foot section for swimming as well), it offers a nice ice-skating rink, both of which are available for free swimming/skating to the general public. The inside also features a full-service snack bar, which opens at 10am.
Outside, besides the usual park amenities (sports fields, tennis, walking paths, playground area), the center offers a BMX track, an ultimate frisbee course, horseshoe pits, and more. One can easily take an entire family here day after day, and always find something active to do. Prices are very reasonable, call ahead for free swim and skate hours.

Coopersmith's has a great menu with a variety of home-brewed beers. You can enjoy lunch out on the patio and watch the old-town surroundings as you eat. I highly recommend the tuna-wasabi sandwich!

This Gart's location usually has some good bargains. You can find great sales on shoes and fitness equipment as well as clothing. Their selection for ski and snowboard equipment is the best in town and usually cheaper than the competition. Other sporting goods stores have gone out of business while this one remains. That's got to say something about customer loyalty and satisfaction.
