The most crowded place in Old Town Ft Collins, on the weekend. Long waits, get there early. So-so food with the 2-limit Margarita.. Upstairs ballroom is great for banquets and private gatherings. We always have a good time at the Rio.
Can't say enough about the ownership and their involvement in the community.

I love this restaurant. The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is amazing, and the service is great. The prices are very reasonable as well.
Pros: Example: best croissants in town
Cons: What are the drawbacks?

Every town has at least one place where you go when you are trying to show someone the very best of what your town has to offer in the area of food. Jay's is that place of choice in Fort Collins. Whether you are there for a romantic dinner, impressing out of town guests, or just in the mood for a classy night out, this is the place to go in Fort Collins.
Though the menu doesn't change with the seasons (as it once did), you are sure to find a favorite (or three). The Continental-styled food is well done, presented beautifully, and consistent. (And, on the days that Jay has to pitch in with the kitchen, the food quality reaches unbelievable heights!) Deserts are also well done, though not the restaurant's strong spot.
I have friends who live in Europe that look forward to dinner at Jays ... that says it all right there!

I visited B & B Pickle Barrel for the first time yesterday, and it was amazingly good. I got a five dollar gift card free with my textbooks, so I decided it was worth a taste, and I will definitely darken their doorway again. They have about 25 sandwich options, or you can opt to make your own. They also have soups and all sorts of desserts. Expect to spend six to seven dollars a sandwich, which is well worth it. I loved their hot Balboa, and I've heard great things about the Hop Sing as well. Be sure to check this place out.

This place is phenomenal, especially in a place like Fort Collins where, yeah, there's about a billion places to eat per capita, but there are very few restaurants of this caliber. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant, the service is impeccable. Try the soups and the brie for sure, I can't even begin to describe how delcious they are. The martinis are superb as well. Overall, no way this place could improve.
Pros: Food, drinks, ambiance, live music
Cons: a little pricey, but worth it.

Coopersmith's has great food, great service, and a great atmosphere! While you are there, don't forget to tour the brewery downstairs. It is also great in the summer, as you can sit on the patio and enjoy downtown Fort Collins at its best!

Being in Colorado does NOT mean that you have to forgo good ethnic food. Enter Bisetti's, a family-run Italian food restaurant that has been serving the community in the same location for years and years. The food is very good, offering all the traditional fare (they make their noodles from scratch) along with a bevy of non-pasta choices. If you catch their lunch specials, you will be treated to imaginative creations served with a salad for a very reasonable price. Perennial favorites include Eggplant parmigiana and their lasagna, and you will NOT leave hungry. Service is above average for Fort Collins, and the newly re-decorated rooms really make you feel as if you are in some quiet, quaint Tuscan town. Bisetti's is a truly positive dining experience, and is one the the places I would put on a short list for bringing guests in from out of town.

Fort Collins has one of my all time favorite breakfast cafés, which is saying a lot. If you love breakfast, too, you’ll enjoy this restaurant. Breakfast with New Orleans flair. You might have to wait, because it is small. Small, and charming, and delicious. If they have the poppyseed orange pancakes on special, try them. The eggs Benedict with fruit is great, as is the chicory coffee. YU-UM. For those who like sausage, there is also a spicy Louisiana sausage breakfast that has gotten good reviews from friends.

Located right next to Whole Foods, Wilbur's has a wide selection of wine, beer, and spirits. Items are arranged nicely on shelves with well-posted signs. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and will offer opinions on anything they carry. I usually go there to get one bottle of wine and always end up with something new to try. The prices are reasonable and sometimes you can find some great deals.

My favorite sandwich is a chicken sandwich that I have had at Avogadro's Number. It has an awesome environment with the occasional live act performing. The walls are painted with eccentric pictures and patterns and the employees are very friendly and fitting the the environment. I really enjoy eating at Avogadro's Number because of the great food and the great environment. My only complaint is sometimes it can take a little longer than I'd like for the food to be prepared.
