I have gone to this place for almost 10 years. This place is amazing. Newly remodled and now serving sushi too. It's a great family place or a romantic hot spot. I've done romantic dates, friends get togethers and family nights. My son (now 5) loves the place. We go often enough that he knows what's coming next in the show. Even if it looks horribly busy (which is does get) the wait time is generally not more than 30 minutes... sometimes faster if it's only a couple. And now that it's remodeled probably not as bad. The wait staff is nice, the chef's are enjoyable and all around you enjoy your experience. You never leave hungry and in my opinion the price is reasonable. Because my son can share I spend just as much there as I would if we went to a "casual" restaraunt because we would have to buy him his own plate. Use the "japanese a2" as they call it... it's great on all the meats, and I love it on my rice... Good time... try it out

Definitely a fantastic restaurant. The food is top-notch, the service warm and friendly. They're great with kids - they encouraged us to stop by McDonald's to bring food for the smaller ones. This is definitely a place to go with friends and family to order a bunch of entrees to split up. Favorites are panang curry, bathing rama, and one entree that's chicken thighs soaked in sauce, served wrapped in leaves. It's on the favorites section of the menu.

I love stopping by this place and ordering takeout on lazy weekdays after work. The food here is always flavorful, tasty, and cheap. I usually run a few errands at Rite Aid or Safeway and by the time I come back, the food is ready! It saves me a night of cooking in the kitchen!
Pros: Quick service, tasty food, lots of parking

Ivar's is, of course, a Northwest classic. Their fish and chips are fabulous, and their side dishes are yummy, too. I have been to the Federal Way location many times and have always had outstanding service and delicious food. If you have out-of-town visitors and are looking for a quick meal, take them here instead of to one of the other chain restaurants. The food is much better, and it is a true Northwest experience. And be sure to go there yourself whenever you have a craving for perfect fish and chips.

One of the few Japanese-owned Japanese restauraunts in town. The sushi bar is tucked away in the back. A wonderful atmosphere for visiting--my husband loves to banter in Japanese with the sushiya. Table seating and tatami rooms are available. The food is spectacular, but a little pricey.

I've been going there for a loooong time. I too didn't think they would survice, but they did. Wonderful job lady's. Great coffee too. It grows on you to the point that it sparks a craving if you've been drinking too much sbux. I recommend them highly. Be nice and tell them Craig sent you.
