The service here has always been great and the atmosphere again is among the best on the lake. The food did start out rocky ...A LONG TIME AGO! They have always gotten better and now in the newly remodeled restaurant the food is fabulous! Their pasta chef is the best and I can only think they will continue to look for ways to improve the menu or add to it based on requests. Enjoy! Since moving into the area, we have been trying out new restaurants on the lake. St Albans came highly recommended to us by a long time local. We were pleasantly surprised. I have no complaints on the food in reference to the other comments. We were inside dining. Maybe the others were out on the patio, which is typically a different menu. My husband had their walleye and I had the special that night which was salmon. Very quaint, great for couples. We sat across from their real wood burning fire place and were easily able to carry on a conversation. Our waitress gets an A+, service was excellent.

Beautiful view of the lake and for that it's a must see. Go relax, have a cold beer and look at the lake. But don't eat here. This place has consistently had food and menu problems for years and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. I have eaten here on several occasions feeling like I keep wanting to give it another chance and am consistently dissapointed. So much potential to be a star on the lake! But it's not cutting it... Have a drink here, but dine elsewhere.

Great view - on the lake. The food here is not good. We have tried it twice and will not go back to eat - but will go back to relax, look at the lake and have a drink. First time I ordered a brie sandwich that was simply terrible. (and really - how can you screw that up?). Second time i ordered a steak salad which had maybe one piece of meat in it and was very overpriced. The inside could use a facelift, but sit outside and enjoy the view.

As the winter sets in and we all long for those beautiful afternoons on the deck overlooking Lake Minnetonka we have a ways to go before Spring steps in. But, that shouldn't stop us from going to The St. Albans Boathouse. Still one of the best dining spots on Lake Minnetonka, The Boathouse takes the chill out of the winter with its huge fireplace that is constantly blazing in the Great Room. And, at The Boathouse, not only is the room great, but the food is equally great. whether choosing one of the wonderful pasta dishes or dining on the Walleye, The Boathouse is the perfect place to enjoy a blazinf fire, a great meal and the memories of a wonderful summer. They also offer a full bar and a very affordable wine list.
