Working in West Eugene, I've had the pleasure of having several business lunches at Ring of Fire...a favorite spot on West 11th. Each time I go I get a little more adventurous, tyring to graduate from being a Thai food wimp. My standby dishes are the vegetable delight, which is as beautiful as it is delicious, and the garlic chicken. Daily chef creations are always notable and someone at my table always orders one (depending upon their toleration level of spiciness stars. Even though I'm a one or two star novice, I give Ring of Fire five stars for quality, variety and service!

Well I have read the other reviews and let me tell you I am very shocked at what I read. I have been going to Shoji's here in Eugene for over a year or more. I recently introduced my daughter into eating Sushi in Key West Fl. I have been all over this country and have enjoyed Sushi at one of the best restaurants in the country for the delicacy of raw fish and the art of making Sushi in New York City where this place flies in their Sushi everyday from Japan!!! It was the best I have ever had. Now to this place. Eugene is not a silly college town like you might expect, they have some very good restaurants here and very cutting edge. They have about 4 good Sushi places here. Shoji's is far the best choice for a great Sushi! The former Sushi Chef that was there is sorely missed but he has taught his grasshoppers well! The wait is a bit long for your order which I will admit, but the way they prepare it and the fish is very very good. I always am asking for them to make something different for me and my daughter and they are very willing to oblige to my requests. They are a young staff at the Sushi Bar but they are good. They do need to lighten up a bit and converse more with the customers at the Bar. I am a talkative person and one that likes to have a good time when I am out to dinner. I find that they are too busy talking to each other than show interest in their customers. SO, they do have their bad pints but I don't go ther for conversation but the wonderful Sushi they give you. It would be nice to have a faster staff and for them to be more , well polite to the Sushi bar customers. Eugene has a long way to go to be like Portland, but they are getting there. Give this place a try and you will not be sorry. For God's sake speak up if you are unhappy and they will get their act together! Don't just sit there and then go home hating the place if you don't complain if something is wrong
Pros: Excellent Sushi and fresh! I always go back for more!
Cons: They need to quicken their pace at making the Sushi, but they are still the best in town.

This is a popular Chinese restaurant in Eugene that features an open, light filled atmosphere. There are big round tables to accommodate large groups that can be reserved if you call ahead. The food is good and is served in large portions. The service is competent and friendly even during the busy weekend nights.

Compared to other Mongolian grills in Eugene, this one is top notch. Plenty of tables - hardly ever will you have to wait for a seat. The staff is incredibly friendly. Make your own custom sauce mix from the abundance of spices and sauces. Build your own dish with the food you pick, and watch it be grilled.

Just ate there last night, and it was delicious. Great assortment of meats, tofu, vegetables, and sauces to create one of a kind dishes everytime!

This is my first review, but I wanted to take the opportunity to praise this establishment. They deserve all of the business they can get.
Contrary to what some would say, this is not a hole-in-the-wall in the true sense. It's actually a fairly decently-sized restaurant (probably converted from a Denny's or something like it) with plenty of adequate seating. It's open and airy, as well as bright, having lots of large windows all the way around.
I haven't had too many dishes off the menu besides the french-style iced coffee with sweetened condensed milk, fried tofu and the pho, but I was absolutely thrilled just to find a restaurant that had the real thing. They're a teensy bit more expensive (around $8/bowl) than I'm used to from my days in Seattle (where you can get a gallon of the stuff for not much over $5, along with free cream puffs), and they don't have nearly the variety of choices for what parts of the cow you favor that a restaurant devoted solely to pho would have, but it is the first authentic pho I've had since leaving Seattle.
As an added bonus, they're on a major bus line that I can easily walk to and from.
Pros: reasonably priced, large menu, on the bus line
Cons: not as many options for cuts of meat in the pho, no free cream puffs

I have been eating at the restaurant for more than 20 years. This is hands down the best value in town. The lunch specials are still cheap and tasty. Portions are huge...Plan to share! The steak is inexpensive and yummy. The wait staff is super friendly. Very busy place.

The food is always excellent at Manolas. Dinner for two including appetizer + tip (which they always deserve, service is top quality) usually comes to under $40.00.
The waitstaff is friendly and cheery. Food arrives quickly, and is always very good.
