Dr. Felix has been our vet for many years, and I could not say enough good about him. I am not as familiar with the rest of the vet's at this practice, but in emergency's taken the pets to see them.
I think that Dr. Felix is the most caring and through vet that I have ever had for our pets. He is extremely knowledgable in all areas. And is willing to lay out options that you have concerning treatments. This said, I would be hard pressed to find another vet that I would trust with my pets.

More
Erie County Farms is known throughout the area as the best place to pick up some inexpensive food items. Their meat selection is always fresh and well priced. Their deli, while no longer the only place in Erie to get a deal, always offers reasonable and sometimes down right cheap prices.
Produce, especially typical common types, is almost always fresh and probably the least expensive you will find. What I love most is that in the summer time you can always count on local produce being sold also. While a lot of chain grocers will put out items shipped in from out of town, Erie County Farms tends to deal with a lot of local farmers.
The biggest drawbacks are parking and the crowds that sometimes get a little 'rough' and hectic.
If you're willing to put up with the pushing and shoving.. you can get some excellent deals.

The SeaWolves are the AA farm team of the Detroit Tigers, but they are part of Erie. It's affoardable family fun, and its players who can make it to the maor leagues. But people need to support it or else Erie will lose the team.

Ok, it's winter.. you're all sitting inside and eating. Do you REALLY want to put on 10 more pounds or do you want to get out and move!!!?
If you're tired of being stuck inside, winter, spring, summer and fall... it's time to hit Family First. Memberships are available but not necessary to enjoy a day of fun and family togetherness.
The Park offers tons of things to do from indoor courts, party rooms, go karts, soccer fields, you name it and you can find the place to do it here! This is a great place to throw a kids birthday party too! You can let them go nuts, get out all that pent up energy that normally will drive you nuts at home and sit back and enjoy the thrills.
Every year it keeps growing too! Come grow with them... instead of growing bigger in that easy chair!!!!!!

More
Anyone who comes to Erie to visit has to visit the State Park of Presque Isle. The long history is highly debated as to who found the peninsula that juts off into beautiful Lake Erie but most Erieites agree that it was Joe Root. He now even has a wonderful little restaurant named after him that you can go to and read the history on their menu!
The park has access to both lake side and bay side, offering an array of good times for everyone. Boaters will enjoy the Marina area and launch area where you can launch your boat for free. No fees are collected at the gate so visitors are not only welcome, they're encouraged to enjoy the beautiful offerings of Lake Erie, free of charge.
There is a place to rent canoes, bikes and even camping at the entrance of the park. Swimming is only allowed on guarded beaches but during the highlight of the summer season there are usually guards on duty from sun up to sun down. A children's park is available. Cabins can be rented for large picnics. Pavilions are available, free of charge on a first come first serve basis. Bikers and hikers alike can enjoy the path that encompasses the vast majority of the park area.
Known for one of the most beautiful sunsets around, I encourage you to stay long enough to enjoy a simple, calming sunset after a day of hard play.

I've been gone from Erie for 30 years I can't believe this place is still there. They must be doing something right. I wonder if Nick is still around? They use to serve the best greek hamburgers and hot dogs around. If I ever get back I'll have to find out M.Allen

Heartland is the absolute worst place you could ever buy or think of buying a dog. They get their dogs from puppymills which are cruel breeding places for dogs just to make money. NO responsible breeder would ever sell their do there. If you bought that dog you could pass deadly diseases to your pets or neighborhood pets. They also have a good chance of dying at a young age. They almost always have expensive vet bill or bad behavior. Don't ever buy from pet store. I am from erie and will never buy anything from there not even a dog toy. Here is a website that will give you an inside look at these horrible places where that cute puppy comes from http://www.stoppuppymills.org/inside_a_puppy_mill.html

More
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Erie. The restaurant actually used to be the old Firehouse downtown, and they have a lot of old memorabilia inside and on the walls. Although it is a nicer restaurant, you wont be out of place dressed casually. The food is reasonably priced and I have never been unhappy with the food or the service. The only thing is, the brunch is a little too high priced. It is all you can eat, but its around 14 dollars, so unless you have a big appetite, id stay away from that.

A neat 50's era looking seasonal fast food restaurant with even the old kitchen type chairs inside. Fifties music playing in the background inside and out. Old time classic cars abound outside. Even the order counter is half of a classic Chevy. The menu is sandwich fair, but excellent tasting. And the price is right. Full menu ice cream items are also available if you can fit them in after burgers, foot long hot dogs, and pizza. Two awning covered patios outside to handle the excess crowds in the summer. Good food and good times.
