I love going to Hamot Health Connection for a massage. I go to Karen and she is great at her job. The rooms are pretty, dark and nice music. I absolutely love it and highly recommend it. I know they have raised their prices lately, but for the relaxing aromatherapy treatment, it's worth almost any cost to me. I highly recommend not driving because after the massage, you are so relaxed and your reflexes aren't what they should be. Have someone drive you and pick you up in an hour.

If you have a choice, don't go here!
Tri-State offers a much more professional atmosphere and a much better set of instructors.
Toni & Guy seem to be overly impressed with themselves. They love to boast their 'world wide' techniques, and rename styles and techniques to be their own. In the real world this isn't too useful. You need to learn the real world lingo, not the Toni & Guy lingo. They also seem to be overly impressed with the British styles and ideas. Their own videos are narrated by a British woman that you can barely understand. Reality check, we're in America and we don't wear our hair piled 3 feet high on our head with 100 pounds of gel to hold it there.
If you're looking for a realistic cosmetology course this is not it. If you're looking to impress a small crowd of Toni & Guy employees and give them your money... go for it! This would be the place! Otherwise it's simply not worth it. Go to Tri-State!

Waldameer is such a great park for families. There are enough rides to be interesting but the park is small enough to not feel overwhelmed. The food is great too, and the water park is refreshing on a summer day! There is no admission charge and parking is free also, so it can be a reasonable family fun day.

This is one of the best places in the Erie area! You can enjoy a walk along the wooden bridged walkways or on one of their many trails. They have a wonderful cottage area to view animals, join in on learning about the locally known animals or purchase a few odds and ends to remember your visit. Winter times the cottage offers a wonderful, warm retreat often with a nice fire going in the fireplace. Tons of programs are offered to both members of the Woods and non-members. Memberships are very reasonable and donations are always accepted.
A spring walk lets one enjoy not only fresh buds and beautiful sunshine but when the warmer times hit you can often find a turtle in the pond and hear the frogs croaking.
This is a beautiful and unique area to take your kids to and is enjoyable by both young and old alike. Many great times and serene moments were shared with my children while they were growing up here that I know they will never forget.
Stop in and get more information from them about some of their programs and classes they offer. While you're there, take a walk around the woods.. it's beautiful!

More
The Montessori School is definitely a different approach to 'regular' school. They have a method of teaching that is very unique to the needs of your child and nothing at all like the age old standard ways of teaching. Known for their very individualized techniques and somewhat 'hippie' like ideals they're known to be very eclectic like in their thinking. They are very "Green" oriented, instilling natural ways and teaching a lot of earth friendly techniques.
Don't be confused, all of this personalized teaching does come at a price but it's not truly much, if any, more expensive than most private schools. With a wonderful student to teacher ratio you can be assured that your child will get individualized help, geared for learning at their own rate. While it's not for everyone, it does appeal to many.

Unfortunately the Erie area has seen it's share of businesses closing up. From huge corporations to small owner businesses you hear it over and over again, they're closing their doors.
Don't fret if you're one of the many suffering from the recent onslaught of business closings. Tri-State Business Institute offers such a huge array of courses that can truly set you on a path of success. Everything from computers to hair design, medical to legal... you can find a new career choice and be certified in a very short amount of time.
I love the idea that students don't have to take courses that will bog them down with useless information. You have a very intricate course of study based solely on your career choice.
Excellent teachers, caring atmosphere and classes that are sized to make learning easy. I highly recommend that if you have recently been surprised with the loss of a job and feel like you have nothing left in career choices... stop by Tri-State and see what they have to offer. I've seen a fair amount of people come out certified and ready to work in a field they thought may never be available to them. It's simply time to make changes in the Erie area... manufacturing jobs aren't as plentiful as they used to be and finding a new avenue can be as easy as a phone call.

More
They offer a very good program that is kid oriented. Unlike many other karate schools that pop up out of nowhere and think their programs can teach everyone from 4 to 40, these guys know that teaching kids is different! They offer some great programs at great rates and the kids always seem to leave with huge smiles!
Teaching a child martial arts is not a simple technique and they need to be taught self discipline along with values. They need to know that this isn't something that they should be doing in the school yard with their friends or even worse yet, their enemies! Teaching a child is definitely different than teaching an adult and only those who truly qualified seem to understand this and cater specifically to children.
Reasonable prices and professional staff, Mancino's can't be beat!

Unfortunately, St. Andrews will be closing at the end of the 2005-2006 school year. They are a small, neighborhood school that thrived mainly on local families to support them. They offer a good, solid, Christian based school with many extra programs that keep the family oriented ideals in tact. While they won't be thriving after this year, they will always thrive as their former graduates and church members remember them well.
The school boasts such wonderful graduates as former Head of Homeland Security, Tom Ridge. They continued to offer excellent programs and family based morals until the Diocese decided to close them at the end of this school year.

More
While I'm sure it serves a purpose for some hard to teach students and problem students they don't exactly say that when you're looking for schools and check this one out. The school itself is impressive as it has a lot of higher tech devices, a nice computer lab and a good teacher to student ratio.
The bad part is, the students seem completely unruly and wild. The teachers seem to not really care if they yell out or scream. Lunch time seems more like wild jungle hour where kids scream, jump around and come close to being wild animals! Inside the classrooms it's not much quieter. Basically it's hectic, unruly and disguised as a learning center.
I'm just simply not sure if there is a purpose to the school, other than perhaps housing children that may otherwise get lost in the process. I understand that many of the kids are perhaps slightly harder to control and teach but the total lack of any control doesn't seem to be the answer.
I can't truly say if it's this way every day, as my kids experienced it one day and said that was it for them. We were looking for an answer to them attending a city middle school but this was definitely NOT it! End result, we homeschool for middle school!
