Peebles Department Store

First I must say that my experience with shopping from Peebles online was horrible and I will never do it again. There was damage to my order and cancellations without my permission and I was not treated as a valuable customer. I had to be in Erie, PA, and while I was there, I stopped into the Peebles store (3424 Liberty St) to return an item and buy some more, hoping that my in -store experience would be better. I was very wrong. This store closes at 6pm and I had shopped until 5:50. As I was bringing my items ($100 worth) to the check-out counter, the woman at the register (Pamela) said to me about herself and her co-workers "Are you done? We want to go home," telling me to hurry up. I find this outrageous. I told her I also had a return and she sarcastically stated, "Of course you do. At five to six, of course you have a return." Her language and behavior is unacceptable for any customer. Also, even though Pam was in such a hurry to leave work, she still had time to try to sell me a credit card and offer for free magazines-- Probably because she receives a benefit from it. This is no way to treat customers who keep the business running. Something needs to be done. I only hope that no one else will have to go through this. more

Peebles offers some wonderful sales, small time shopping experience and great sales people without the hassle of the mall shopping. You can get many brand names that are known for quality without paying prices that are too high. My personal favorite is their holiday section which boasts very reasonably priced items that are very different. The sales they run make it well worth the stop to see what they have. My only bad experience is that I have had times when I've gone in just to look around and been disappointed with very few sales and therefore some overpriced items. Sometimes they have a bit of a slouch in products offered and aren't always up to date but other times their selection is awesome and they have the latest in trends. I think it just depends on the buyer and the time of year. I've also found that if I'm looking for something in particular that everyone else seems to already have and can't find it anywhere.... Peebles still has them, simply because they're not up at the mall!!!! I think the best part of this store is their great sales. Regular pricing isn't always the best but wait for the sale because they offer some great deals! more

Peeble's is a convenient store in the Liberty Plaza away from the hustle and bustle of upper Peach Street. There is ample parking and little walking to do. The selection of ladies and men's clothing is very nice with good name brands and nice sales. The clerks are very helpful also and you do get the attention a customer deserves. more
