This is not one of the better locations. The one on Venice and the one in Manhattan Beach are alot better. Service could have been a whole lot better.
Pros: Good food
Cons: Bad service

The fried plaintains are so good! They cut them in pieces about the size of your finger and they're not greasy at all. Very sweet and delicious. I've ordered the shrimp and rice (average), the pork sandwich (meat good, bread not good), the ham croquettes (NASTY), and the chicken soup (average). The restaurant has absolutely no ambience and crappy tables and chairs. If they got rid of the fried plaintains I would never eat there again.

This place has the best garlic chicken ever! I also highly recommend getting a pitcher of Sangria. Sometimes there is a little wait but it is totally worth it. The steak dishes are also yummy!

Tried this restaurant - ordered my favorite Garlic Chicken/Pork combo plate. Was disappointed, pales in comparison to the same at the WLA location on Venice Blvd. Service was gruff, although the food came to the table quickly enough (group of 7), won't come back here - will go to WLA.
Pros: In the valley
Cons: Doesn't live up the the Restaurant on Venice Blvd.

We would certainly not recommend Versailles in Encino, Ca! Stay away from this restaurant!! Terrible waiters, sloppy, impolite...poor management down to the ownership. Pitiful! Our group just came back from Versailles, after hearing glowing reports and reading all these great reviews. Our group was looking forward to a lovely dinner in that we all grew up on Cuban food, we couldn't wait. All that changed with a rude waiter, watered down sangria (who raved about this??? Although I notice on this site others report watered down drinks, isn't this pathetic!!!) And the food!! Bland, definitely below average, my kid could cook better!! The empanadas (the turn overs with either spinach, chicken or guava) are a pathetic, overcooked, tasteless joke on the true art of the word!
So...what is going on here??? Why all these raving reviews??? It really makes me suspicious...either the waiters are playing favorites, bringing some people decent food, others not...or all these just write ups from friends. Either way spells trouble!
Please do not accept this type of service, standard and quality...whether it is here or any other restaurant. If you have a bad experience, we do recommend you bring this to the notice of those in charge. We did this, only to find defensive response, unapologetic stances...from management right down to the owner. There are so many great restaurants out there, Versailles needs to know that if they want to remain in business and be catered by the public, they must change their act, attitude, service and most definitely...get better cooks! Until this changes...find another Cuban restaurant!! But don't go to Versailles in Encino!
Pros: There are other Cuban restaurants in L.A.
Cons: Service, Food, Watered Down Drinks, Bad Management and Ownership

The eclectic Cuban-style food comes quickly at this place, and the service is both humble and friendly. The sangria is delicious and the atmosphere is at once upbeat and mellow. I really liked the arroz con pollo and the famous garlic chicken. Mixed with the beans and sweet plantains, the spices and roasted meat were divine.
Pros: Delicious food and great service
Cons: Pricey sangria

Need to say more.... you've got to taste this heavenly chicken. Moist, juicy and savory and ridden with garlic. If you like garlic this is the place to get this delicious garlic oven roasted chicken. Every time I come here I get this all the time. My wife loves the fried plantain and so do I. Lots of food at a fair price. just thinking about it makes my mouth water.

The chicken and black rice is very good, mix it up with the platanos and it's even better. Their sangria is pretty good, but a bit pricey.

I've been several Versailles locations and have not been disappointed. Although the decor is old and the tables are ancient, I've never been disappointed with any of the dishes. The people that frequent this type of establishments ranges from young to old across differing ethnicities. I personally like the fried plaintains served with the rice. I've tried the beef, pork, and chicken dishes and they are all good. I usually get the garlic chicken but have mixed it up quite a bit from time to time. The food can be somewhat salty at times but other than than I do not have any gripes. Service is pretty good and prompt. Parking can be difficult at times, depending on the location and time. I've recommended the restaurant to various people and they have not been disappointed. This would be in the high 8s.
Pros: Casual atmosphere, hearty portions
Cons: Parking
