Miyozen has such a wonderful atmosphere. They have a bar area and a separate dining area that has the sushi belt and they have a children's play area. The chefs are in the middle of the resturant so you can watch them prepare your sushi. The staff is way friendly. The food is delicious, I love their spider rolls and Terriyaki chicken. The price is about average for sushi. They have recently added all you can eat on Friday-Sunday for about $20 a person. It has recently become quite crowded so I mostly call ahead with my order for take out.

I live right around the corner from Bucci's and I go there from time to time for a solo dinner if I don't feel like cooking. I must say, I was always slightly impressed, but when I ordered the Bistecca, it knocked my socks off!
They didn't ask how I wanted it cooked, but I let it go. It came out perfectly medium-rare, topped with gorgonzola and red onions cooked in red wine. I would suggest you specify that you want it cooked more if you aren't into the still-mooing cow.
Also, the espresso custard dessert thingy is to DIE for.
It's a little pricey but it's worth it for the atmosphere and tasty food.
Pros: Steak, wine selection, desert
Cons: Waitstaff could be more attentive

This is my favorite place to have lunch when I am at work. They have the best mexican fast food in emeryville. They use really fresh vegtables, and freshly cooked meat. They give a lot of choices as to what to put i your dishes. My favorite is either there chicken and prawn burrito. Just be prepared to wait in line, because it gets really busy during lunch time. Even if you call your food in, you still will end up waiting in line just to pay. The best way to do it, is to put it on your credit card so that it makes the process go faster. Another thing is the parking is really bad, it has about 8 spots in a busy little shopping center, but there is a few spots on the street.
PROS: great food
CONS: slow customer service

Each of the four times I have eaten at the restaurant, I have been pleasantly surprised and pleased. The dinners are interesting. A number of dishes are not your usual run of the mill Mexican fare. Their Tamales are so unusual and quite a treat. The Quesidillas are very tasty. Their salsa bar offers a variety of spicy. The lunch is more casual and reasonably priced. The dinner menu is a bit more pricey but has some items that aren't available for lunch.

I know I say that a lot. But we have a lot of institutions. We're a great city!
So, she is. There is an entire wall full of photos of celebrities enjoying her cuisine over the years, and a section of the menu explaining who Lois was. Besides that, there are solid hash brown and egg dishes, famous pies, and plenty of sausage and bacon for those who enjoy such things. Lois is a great common-denominator joint: pretty much everyone loves to go there. And it opens practically at dawn (maybe even before) for all your late-night or early-morning tasty food needs.

There is a different menu everyday, comprised of fresh organic local produce, rice, beans, etc. It's vegan and macrobiotic and delicious. The menu is posted on the website about 30 minutes before they start serving. Lunch is from 11:30-2:30 and dinner starts at 5:30. You can select from 3 different meal sizes - full, moderate, and simple. The larger 2 come with soup and the smaller does not. The simple is actually slightly different from the moderate and full in that it is made up of fewer items. The soups are always wonderful, often the highlight of the meal. They also have great pastries, baked there with natural ingredients. The service is fast - you have food within 5 minutes of getting there, and the servers are nice.
Pros: Fast, healthy, tasty
Cons: NONE!!

Broken rack is a tiny bit classier than the other pool halls around the bay area. They serve some food, drinks, and have waitresses uniformed. It's 21+ pool hall by the way. They plenty of regulation tables and a couple of snooker tables in the back. One special VIP room in the corner and a smoking lounge room. Its located in a business and shopping complex in Emeryville. Service is pretty good and well worth the experience. One of my favorite pool halls here in the east bay. They also hold tournaments here and shooters all around the bay come here to battle.

Came here one evening for a graduation dinner toward end of May '09 w/ large group of 14+ folks, & actually had pretty damn good customer service! RSVP was for 8pm & surprisingly enough most family members & friends came on time (w/ the exception of like 4-5 peeps). Nonetheless, we had about 2-3 servers checking in on our entire party throughout the course of our meal...polite, thorough, & pleasant was the service we got considering it was a busy evening for this staff w/ another large group dinning in close by in addition to their normal "dinner crowd". Ok, this place was very busy last night & I say the servers, cooks, & rest of the staff was doing a great job maintaining customer service!
Now onto the food...it was deeeelicious of course! I've yet to go to an Elephant Bar & be displeased w/ food & drinks, but if I ever do, u'll see my review ;-) Me & bf went "non-alcoholic" this time w/ Mango-Raspberry Swirl & Pineapple Freeze both good, but I'd recommend the M-R Swirl ;-) Nachos Appetizer for both ends of the table pleased everyone as a starter. Then my Shrimp and Chicken Jambalaya w/ Brown Rice arrived...my palate & my tummy was pleased yet once more. Actually I prob wouldn't have mind more cheese bread to saap up my jumbalaya juice...yeeah, daddy taught his lil' girl to get a piece of bread & get all that goodness up from a plate (LOL). Only ate half; other half came home w/ us & we've got some garlic cheese bread in the fridge anywho =p Back to the dinning experience, our cousin ordered the Big "E" Sliders... these lil' suckers are NOT lil' actually...just a step down from a the size of McD's Cheeseburger. Overall everyone was pleased w/ their meals!
This area gets A LOT of foot traffic due to other vendors in the area (AMC Theater, Cold Stone, CPK, PFChangs, Barnes & Noble, Tea Cake Bakeshop, IKEA, & more). Large garage parking area ($2/2hrs I recall)...option to pay vending machine b4 u go back 2 ur car or pull up to guy/gal in toll upon garage exit & pay them. Plenty of other restaurant shops to check out and/or shop around. As far as this E-Bar tho, we had an overall good time w/ each other, food, service, & location!
Pros: Outdoor seating, lively bar area w/ flat screens, & spacious
Cons: No vendors in shopping area validates garage pking ticket
