I love Rudy's so much. I always get their calamari, and their chili is so good as well. This place is a staple of the East Bay, and the atmosphere is great for the young rocker. Open late and pretty cheap beer!

Last night, I was at Furenzu for the second night in a row. Can't seem to keep away! I wanted to try everything on the menu and everything was absolutely delicious! Geniusly crafted with a very unique combination of flavors. My favorites are the salt and pepper tofu, the duck confit with pureed cauliflower, pasta in a triumverate of flavored caviar: cognac, wasabi and truffles (mmmm!!!!) and the goat cheese pockets. The staff is very attentive and it adds to Furenzu's uber-cozy atmosphere. Yesterday, I had the salmon cakes with a glass each of the Patric Bottex Bugery Cerdon Rose, Prosecco and a Jeune Vignes... they were all fantastic, giving such a splendid summer surprise. Refreshing, light and very delicate in taste. I love the portions which allow you to try a little of everything, just like eating Frech. I highly recommend this destination restaurant. It's a hideaway to be discovered. Ask for the chef! She's the most gracious host.
Pros: Great ambience. Amazing food. Destination area.
Cons: You always seem to want more and more!!!

I'm not usually a fan of scones--they're really dry and hard to eat. But Arizmendi is an exception! Their scones are hard on the outside, but really soft on the inside, with just the right amount of sweetness.
Also something great that they have are their pizzas. Every day they have a new, unique flavor of pizza. They don't sell anything like pepperoni or cheese--you either take the one pizza they have, or don't eat anything. But their flavors are really good and interesting!

East Ocean Hong Kong Seafood Restaurant is a great place to have lunch or dinner. Aside from great chinese food, you have a great view of the bay, and the city of San Francisco. Lunches could be had for a fairly cheap price. DImsum is also available. Dinners are pretty expensive, but with the view, it is well worth it. Service is pretty good too.

After reading all the reviews here, I was surprised, I have always received excellent service at this restaurant, and it is one of my family?s favorites. Then, I realized that most of the reviews were complaining that the waiters spoke little to no English. True. This restaurant caters specifically to its Chinese patrons, and doesn?t worry about interlopers who don't speak Cantonese. Unfair? Maybe, but this restaurant has thrived for many years, and the food is always excellent. I guess if you want better service, learn some Cantonese.
Pros: Free Parking, excellent food
Cons: can be busy on weekends

Well almost anything and everything. Emerybille Public Market is one of the places to go if your uncertain of what to eat for lunch or dinner. They have a variety of ethnic foods for you to choose from. I've tried they're Chinese, Korean, Thai, Indian, Italian, Mexican, and even there cheese steak sandwhich place. I've gone here a hundred times even just to get some sorbet ice cream. I shoot pool next door at the Broken Rack so this is really convenient for me.

The food is so good at this restaurant that I don't understand why I don't have to wait for a table! Maybe the exterior turns some people off (weeds in parking lot), but the decor inside (quiet booths, a rarity in the Bay Area, and great sushi bar) and the superb food makes for a relaxing and very enjoyable evening. We love to eat here with friends who we want to enjoy really good food in a quiet, comfortable, attractive atmosphere-with moderate prices! You can get a wonderful dinner with drinks for $25! If you add sushi-and yes, we do-it is a more, but well worth it. The sushi is attractivly presented (creative-like the Lion King Roll or the Cherry Blossom or the Caterpiller Roll, plus familiar items like the Lambada) and the sashimi is always fresh and good. I have eaten here with small groups and groups as large as 10-no problem, even for non-raw fish eaters! My husband is hard of hearing, but in a booth, he has no trouble hearing! It is possible to call ahead and order speciality sushi/seafood items, or have your own signature dish re-created to your order. (I have a friend who does this.) I don't eat deep-friend food, but my friends have raved about the tempura. It is fun to try the saki sampler, and my non-drinking friends and children have also been happy with their choice of beverage. The children also like the Japanese desserts, like deep-fried ice cream and interesting ice creams. We even had happy children who were allergic to food coloring and had never had Japanese food before. (The teriyaki appeals to everyone, and our children like the fried rice and California Rolls-crab and avocado) Our children also like the large sushi bar and friendly sushi chef!
Pros: Great , well-prepared food and ample proportions; quiet booths for visiting
Cons: Parking front and back could be confusing. Little hard to get into parking lot (which needs attention)

During the week it is very fast paced (11am-1pm). They offer great breakfast items and for lunch they have salads that can feed two people. The shrimp and avocado salad is very yummy.
On the weekends it is very family friendly. Sundays are very busy but you never wait longer than 15 minutes to sit down. The buttermilk pancakes are to die for. My son loves going here. We go during the week in the mornings and its not very busy at all.
