The place was somewhat dirty and the service wasn't that great. The people weren't friendly and didn't seem to care much. The selection of food was small and it wasn't all that great. I would not recommend to someone who actually wants to have a nice, filling meal.

We were a party of 13, 10 adults and 3 children ranging from 10 months to 10 years. We visited Sorrento's on Easter Eve. Despite the size of our party, the service was wonderful. Our waiters got all the orders correct. And the food was fabulous.
We had appetizers: (Calamari, Mozzarella, Sausage, clams oregenata). I had the chicken and veal francese which was perfection. I also tried my mothers shrimp francese (also very tasty). My Husband had chicken parm, a staple but still wonderfully done. My brother in law had the lamb chops which he said were superb. My sister in law had salmon which she raved about.
The wait staff was very attentive and patient.
We were a little wary since their write up in the Ledger wasn't very promising, but after a visit I have to believe that the Ledger reviewer was crazy. I really can't say a single bad thing about our experience. The only thing that I could say is that the bathroom doesn't have a changing table.
They even offered us after dinner drinks on the house. Don't miss this place!
Pros: The food, the food, the food.
Cons: A little pricey, about $50 pp

Tommy's definitely makes a decent pizza. They lose out a lot of times because other local places have insane prices (6$ a large pie at donatos) but they definitely make a decent pie. Nothing too special though. Their garlic knots are GREAT. Put in an order of those if you are getting anything there.

I am a 36 year old average corporate worker who has enjoyed the food from Tommy's for the last 30 plus years. My parents and I had made a weekend journey to Elizabeth NJ on weekends, not a far drive for the best lunch/dinner you can get anywhere. They make their own sausage and sametimes evan a hot sausage. Not to mention the Italian hot Dog sandwich is also great. And for all off you who do not eat hot dogs because of what you may hear they are made from No Fear here these are beef hotdogs. There sandwhich is piled high with either hotdog or sausage or evan a combo with both and then oinions,peppers and perfectly fried potatoes on top and placed into fresh pizza bread roll. I hear of adding a second location in N Brunswick NJ the people living there are in for a surprise.
Pros: Quality food, Affordable, Tastey
