The original "Elgin Hot Sausage" is served on the other end of town at Southside Market, but most Elgin residents prefer Meyer's. They have fantastic smoked turkey breast. Their beef sausage and pork garlic sausage are delicious. The brisket....depends on the day. If you order the lean brisket, you may be pleased or disappointed. Ask to have a look at it before they cut it. Sometimes it is lean, sometimes it is fatty. It tastes the same, I suppose, but I just can't stand the texture.
I order meat by the pound (not by the plate or sandwich). It's a much better deal. It comes with pickles, onions, and white bread (if you want them) and you can make your own wrap or sandwich. There are plenty of tables - mostly wooden "picnic table" type, but heavier duty; antique farm implements and signs on the walls (plus a few stuffed critters); and a TV in the side room if you need to keep an eye on the game. The sauce is sweet and there's an extra "hot" sauce bottle with some kind of oily mixture that you can add to it as well. My husband uses it, but I don't think that it has enough flavor to make it worth bothering with.
The place is clean and well lighted, and the folks are friendly. It can get mighty crowded on the weekend and you may have a good wait to get to the meat counter, but you can always read the newspaper clippings that are framed and hung on the walls.

Southside has the best Hot Sausage in Texas, bar none! You can order you BBQ to go, or stay in an authentic BBQ restaurant. They also carry a wide variety of other BBQ during the weekend, to include ribs. The brisket is also good, but you must try the Hot Sausage. For the do-it-yourself people, there is a meat market where they sell the Hot Sausage to smoke yourself, along with a wide variety of meats. It's worth the drive to visit.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant chain, hands down. Their salsa is the best I've found, I often buy it to take home. Prices are reasonable, service is usually good. I would recommend the Ribeye Steak Jalisco, it's my personal favorite, but there are many other great items on the menu as well.
The locations in Bastrop are great as well.
Pros: salsa, ribeye steak halisco
Cons: I don't live near here anymore. :(

The office I work in has been using this service for some time and just recently found out that employees of commercial accounts receive a pretty good discount on their residential service. We have been having them do our home for six months now and they are fantastic. They are very accommodating with my work schedule and have even met me at home during my lunch hour to get the inside of the house done. They do a background check on employees and don’t seem to high turnover rate. I highly recommend this company for you pest control needs.

They usually include 2 meats: turkey and ham; a plethora of cooked veggies: carrots, sweet potato's with marshmallow topping (and I do mean sweet! - this is like a dessert), cabbage, green beans, macaroni and cheese (yes, really, but not the boxed variety), butter beans, black eyed peas, mashed potatoes (gravy optional) - numerous others I can't think of at the moment; and for dessert - fruit filled jello. Do you feel like a kid again? The food is good, the service is (usually) good, the price is good (less for those of you that don't eat meat).

The Cattle Company serves up a great filet mignon at a very reasonable price. It comes with your choice of two sides - the usual baked potato, green beans, salad, etc. It's not a fancy steak place, it's a home town steak place and the steaks are great. The service is usually good, and if you have the desire, there is an adjoining karaoke bar on the other side of the back wall (don't worry, it doesn't seem to bleed through into the restaurant). If you are allergic to cigarette smoke, like I am, go in the earlier evening hours as there's just one big room for dining.

Krazy Horse Grill has great tasting burgers. They're a weekday special (before 3pm). $2.99 for a great burger and steak fries. The burger comes with whatever condiments you request on it, then head over to the burger bar to load up your lettuce, tomato, jalapenos,....
The service is not always great, but the burgers are! I've also had their teriyaki chicken dish which left something to be desired.
