I started going to Kafe Neo's several years ago and got hooked. The Gyro's are the best and so are the fries. After going their as a regular I was sad when they temporarily closed to remodel. I was very happy once they re-opened. The place really looks great! When I started going their again I tried their lamb dish and it is heavenly. This place gets busy because their are a lot of other people who love this place too.

I have been a loyal Kafe Neo customer since 2002, and the restaurant has grown a ton since then. But even with the remodel, they still offer the same great, authentic food--in fact, I'd say the food has gotten even better! The menu has grown along with the restaurant. Their sauces--tzatziki, hummus and skordalia, especially--are delicious. I have an order of skordalia and pita every time I go! And an order of Greek fries. And yes, I've been to Greece, and yes, eaten Greek fries in Athens! Kafe Neo gets the details right.
They have a wide variety of gyros--everything from lamb with feta for the omnivores to fish or calamari for seafood fans (though you won't detect even a trace of the scent of seafood in the place) to several vegan and vegetarian options (my favorites in this bunch are the Grecian special and the falafel gyros). There is also vegetarian moussaka, and many other plates and platters of food that are perfect for the hungry or indecisive!
The desserts are fantastic, such as traditional baklava, but the sweet, syrupy galaktoboureko takes the cake (sorry).
Kafe Neo really gets the Greek food right, and at the right price. And a previous reviewer mentioned only going here for takeout, but since the remodel, it's a great place for a sit-down meal. My only gripe is that they aren't open late enough.
Pros: Authentic Greek, great value, great variety, lots of vegan/vegetarian options
Cons: Not open late

I had already been into Kafe Neo a few times for lunch, which is always good. But I was really surprised the other night when I stopped in for dinner. My wife, our friends, and I were greeted and taken to our table as soon as we walked in the door. Although it was pretty packed, the restaurant itself was very pleasant, with tasteful colors, decorations, and live Greek music.
The service was excellent. We had water in front of us right away, and our server, a Native Greek, was extremely knowledgable about the food and the different wines that they serve.
The food was great. We started out with the appetizer plate and an order of calamari. The appetizer plate consisted of a few different Greek dips, all of which were delicious, fresh vegetables, feta cheese, these stuffed grape leaves that I had never heard of before, and lots of pita bread (they have the best pita bread). The calamari is some of the best I've had in a while. Next came the salads, which were also not lacking in any way. After that came the main courses. I had the bow tie pasta. My wife had the lamb and feta stuffed peppers. I had some of both, and they were great. The plates were beautiful, and different than anything you'd find anywhere else. It took a great deal of self control to save room for dessert. The whole time we were eating, the wines that our server suggested were great and went very well with the dishes that we had chosen. Finally came dessert. The four of us all split tiara misu and their lemon mousecake. This is some of the best dessert I've ever had. We were all stuffed about halfway through, but still couldn't help but finish every last bite.
After we were done, we stayed and chatted for a while and watched the music. Our server was very friendly and continued filling our water glasses. This is one of the best meals we've had in a while, and we will be back soon. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal. Try something besides the gyros!
Pros: Great food, great service, great ambience.
Cons: Parking lot was a bit full, but not a real problem.

If you've tried this place before and didn't like it, you better give it another chance. We've been there several times over the last couple of months, the service has been just great! I noticed they were training new counter help. Both the trainer and the new hire were polite and thanked us for our patience.
Cafe style, nothing too fancy, you order at the front counter and they bring it out to you, service seems fast to me, we were there on a very busy Saturday afternoon, yet the food came out hot and quickly. My parents had Gyros, and enjoyed them, they looked huge! My mom loved the calamari gyro, fried strips of calamari which she said wasn't chewy. The fries, a side order, tasted really good, and greated A+, so says my son the french-fry King. I had the falafel plater it was beautifully presented and WOW, tasted out of this world. I was stuffed, nice sized portions. The stuffed grapeleaves were tastey as was the sauce, I can never remember the name of the sauce made out of garlic and potatos, anyway, it was all good. I'm drooling just thinking of it. The salad that came with it was fresh and a nice size.
For the other reviewer who said there are plenty of other Greek restaurants around that were better, please inform the rest of us! And I don't mean another run of the mill Gyro stand! This has been the first place I have found, outside of downtown Seattle, to get a humus plate right! It was served with plenty of pita, which was grilled just right!
Price you may ask? CHEAP!!! Plenty of food, and did I say CHEAP!! In this case, you get a lot more than what you pay for!! Another 5 out of 5 star restaurant in the Lynnwood area, you guys should be thankful.
Pros: Nice and clean inside and out, plus the food was plentiful!
Cons: Parking gets a bit crowded with the overflow from the tavern next door.

Kafe Neo is an excellent restaurant - they have a great menu, and all of it tastes great and is inexpensive. But it's not a place focused on ambience or service. While the owner is of Greek descent and the manager grew up in Greece, most workers are native Spanish speakers or high school kids. For this reason, I choose to call ahead of time and pick up my order to-go rather than dining there. I particularly like their avgolemono soup, their Neo Chicken gyro and their moussaka. They also have a ton of great vegetarian options and their falafel, tzatziki and hummus are the best around.
Pros: Great food, inexpensive, wine and beer offered
Cons: Ambience, presentation

My husband and I had a hankering for gyros today, so we made a lunch stop at Kafe Neo. A teenage girl continued conversing with another employee while she took our order. It was so nice listening to discussions of friends working at a local gay bar. These people need lessons on professionalism and common courtesy. While the prices are what you would expect to pay for a typical gyro joint, the quality of the food and its presentation were severely lacking. Normally, the meat is trimmed of the outer coating as it is cured in salt and develops a tough hide when exposed to air. They chose to take the cheap route and served over salty, tough lamb gyro meat. The service was lackluster at best. With so many other greek choices around, I won't be back to kafe neo.
Pros: fast service, reasonable prices
Cons: unprofessional, poor quality of food
