This review is to counter the one that said the food was mediocre and cafeteria-quality.
I took my visiting friend to the Cafe de Paris recently. At first, he was disappointed that the waitress did not understand him, when he ordered completely in French! But when his food arrived, he was in heaven.
I forgot to mention that my friend is 100% French. After our meal, he was so thilled that he insisted that we go back and congratulate the chef, which we did. They both had a wonderful time chatting in French, (finally.)
On our way home, my friend informed me that his meal was the BEST French food he had ever had -- better than the best restaurants in Paris (!!) At first, I though he was just exaggerating, but he kept going on and on, but I eventually believed him. I did enjoy my meal, by the way.
The music on guitar by Enrique was charming, and our server was sassy, and nice. Best of all, the $$ cost was reasonable. It is not the classiest atmosphere you've ever seen, but functional, clean and nice.
When my friend visits again, I will definitely be taking him back there.
I am taking my Mother there tomorrow for Mother's Day...
Pros: Good service, good service, good food
Cons: Not a beautiful decor, but nice

Moved up north to buy a house and trying to find good places to eat up here. We check this place out for lunch because of the good reviews. I'll make this short and sweet, kinda. We are seated at a table with vinyl tablecloth and cheap plastic flowers. Its dark inside on a sunny day and all the other customers there were senior citizens eating soup and salad. We ordered the pate de maison and the beef bourguignon. The pate was a slice you get off a loaf at the grocery store served with canned peaches and olives. The beef was a pot-roast served with really overcooked noodles. The server was sweet in a very awkward way and I overheard her telling someone else that the chef is scary. Don't go here for french food of any kind. If your grandma wants to go to the waterfront to eat soup and salad this is the place for you.
Pros: waterfront
Cons: food, decor, menu

March 2007 My family made reservations at Cafe de Paris, a restaurant family and friends have frequented for years. The female manager provided the worst service we have experienced in years. The food was good however, the female manager/waitress was very rude, provided poor service and complained about how she hurt her leg while distracted trying to take our order. I asked her to have the owner call me. A week later I never received a call finally when I got through to the owner he said he never received the message and did not seem to care about the service even after I tried to explain our experience. He asked me ??????what I want him to do about it??????. He said he was busy and there was no reason to call me back. With such poor service, I will never visit this restaurant again.

The atmosphere was elegant and quiet, pretty romantic in the evening time. The food is excellent, I had the Filet de Beouf Bearnaise which I HIGHLY recommend,. The steak was tender, juicy and flavorful, the bearnaise sauce was delicious and made from scratch. The meal comes with a variety of veggies and potatoes. It wasn't too expensive the dinner prices ranging from $14 to $20. Our service was attentive and friendly, I would highly recommend this restaurant for people who love good food. Oh yes the lamb is also excellent!
Pros: Food, live guitar Fri and Sat, service
Cons: no complaints here

This restaurant has been here for as long as I can remember. They are open for lunch and then again for dinner. At lunch time my favorite meal is the avacado salad and french onion soup. For dinner my favorite is the salmon with champagne sauce, or maybe the orange duck. Hard choice. I tell you, you could eat dinner here every night for months and never eat the same entree twice. Also you would never get tired of the food. Each dish has it's own unique flavor. Also if you want a show, order the flambe. You will be in for a treat.

The Cafe De Paris has been a favorite of my family for many years! Have never had a bad experience with the food! Always amazing quality, especially the French Onion Soup!
Customer service is a bit lacking in some of the hostesses, and Enrique the guitarist is a tad loud (so don't come in the evening if you want a "quiet" dinner). It's a very cozy setting, with a great view and wonderful food. Need I say more?
Pros: French Onion Soup, Chocolate Mousse, Ambiance
Cons: , Hostess

The food, from the rock-hard butter patties to the limp vegetables to the roadkill entree, was entirely forgettable. The atmosphere is more Denny's than it is Parisian cafe. Service was prompt.

Cafateria food. With an overall rating of 9.2 on Citysearch I was confident that I had found a sure hit. The french bread was very unexceptional (I love interesting tasty bread). My main entree was veal which was in a very salty mustard sauce. My husband had Duck Ala Orange which came as 2 large drumsticks and tasted and looked more like Peking duck. Our side dishes were over cooked carrots, broccoli, and potatos that were so over cooked they were glutinous. The food overall appeared as if it had come off an assemble line and had been precooked and kept hot ready to be served. I would have been willing to pay $6-$10 for an entree, but their prices were $14-$22 which definitely was not comparable to the food quality. For reference Herb Farm 8.2, Canlis 8.5, Anthony's Homeport 6.7, Cafe De Paris 9.2?
Pros: Close to Ferry, Tender snails
Cons: Over priced, Cafateria quality, Unauthentic
