Late one Sunday night my husband and I where searching for a bite, and thought on a spur to check it out. Wonderful noodles, great soup and good cheap sushi! We are so happy to find them and will make it a regular neighborhood restaurant stop. Their spider roll was great and very tasty miso soup. Nice owners and wait staff as well.
Pros: inexpensive, good parking

I only know of one super good Korean Restaurant that my friends recommended years ago and it continues to be the only one I frequent: Ho Soon Yi. There are two branches - one in Edmonds off hwy 99 and one in Tacoma off S. Tacoma Way. It's popular for soon du boo (sp?), a spicy tofu soup. I also recommend the meat dishes, fried mackerel, and pah juhn (scallion & seafood pancake). The side dishes are great and are almost a meal in itself. Yum! It always satisfies my craving for spicy Asian cuisine! Love it! Make sure you go there hungry and early, as the north end one can get very busy.

The "bar" food (chopped vegetables, noodles, sauces) are always very fresh, plentiful, and tasty. The sauces (I usually get the Mongolian sauce) are quite good. However, the last two times I ate here, I literally got not even a 1/3 c. cooked chicken. For about $9 a plate which is mostly cheap vegetables and a few noodles, I think they really should give you more meat.

I love coming here because the food is consistently good, generous servings and the price is right! It's in a busy little mall and sometimes it's hard to get in but it's worth it!

Thai food is good, but not excellent. If you like spicy food, order a really high star because the stars don't seem to be too powerful. It is relatively quick in the making

This has always been one of my favorite places to eat. Nice atmosphere, pleasant servers and quick service. It's been getting more crowded over the years but still a very nice place.
PROS: Nice quiet place to eat

The Loft is one of those places you'd easily overlook. It's right on Main St. but occupies a very small space that has been home to many different coffee shops in the past. The space is small and cozy with seating for only about 36 people inside and an additional 25 seats outdoors in the summer. They have a small bar that seats 7 and half the tables are up in a loft area.
The atmosphere reminds me of some chic European bistro and each time I've been there it has been busy. They don't take reservations unless you have a party of six or more, however, we've never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes for a table. The have a small selection of wines and beer and serve generous cocktails. They are also one of the few nice places to stay open late.
What really set this place apart from everything else in Edmonds is the food. Excellent NW and Pan-Asian food done to perfection. The chef is formerly of the Canlis. There are usually 6 or 7 "large plate" entries on the menu along with an equal number of "small plate" appetizers. Of the three things that I've tried, all have been excellent, but the Sea Bass is the best. And unlike most restaurants in Edmonds, The Loft is also reasonably priced. Now here's a place we can actually afford to visit quite often.
The service is great and the owner, Niko (who claims to be Greek but sounds and looks Russian) is friendly and accommodating. The only down side is the shortage of seating and the rather loud ambience of the place. But I'll suffer through all that to have a nice, affordable and hip place to eat in Edmonds.

This spot is fun and romantic. Great place to get a gathering of friends to. Bartenders are very polite and make great drinks. You can almost always find the owner in there also helping out. He is a very friendly man and treats his regulars right. Food is small portions, but very tasteful. It has an outdoor lounge which is covered and has heaters so always fun to have a few drinks with the rain hitting the roof top. I recommend trying this spot out.
