we just moved to downtown edmonds and found the most amazing espresso bar. talk about quintessential! they use stumptown coffee (from portland), have ONLY ORGANIC milk, amazing organic chocolate, french pastries and whole leaf teas (12 kinds!). they also have free wifi and a gorgeous garden area in the back (especially when it gets warmer!). supposedly they're getting music on the weekends when they stay open later.
we come here at least 2-3x/wk and love the ambience, a very knowledgeable staff, and the food's not bad either although limited. they just started carrying bagels from bagel oasis (which was close to our old neighborhood) so we're really happy about our move to edmonds.
if you love amazing coffee, but haven't been, you should check it out

Teriyaki is so good and you get so much for the price (about $6 - $9). You must try their yakisoba, I think it's their best dish! Service is always awesome and the owners are so nice! :)
They also have a lot of healthy alternatives. My favorite is tofu yakisoba.
Pros: Big portions, cheap, and very friendly!
Cons: Parking can get a little crowded.

Walnut Street serves the best coffee in Edmonds. There is nothing better than the dark chocolate mocha! They also have a great selection of pastries and lunch items, such as a delicious black bean burrito. It's a great place to sit and visit with friends.

This is the only teriyaki place I had ever been to until about age 17. Their chicken teriyaki is the specialty and the fried vegetables that come with it are much better than any other place I've ever had.

This spot is fun and romantic. Great place to get a gathering of friends to. Bartenders are very polite and make great drinks. You can almost always find the owner in there also helping out. He is a very friendly man and treats his regulars right. Food is small portions, but very tasteful. It has an outdoor lounge which is covered and has heaters so always fun to have a few drinks with the rain hitting the roof top. I recommend trying this spot out.

The Loft is one of those places you'd easily overlook. It's right on Main St. but occupies a very small space that has been home to many different coffee shops in the past. The space is small and cozy with seating for only about 36 people inside and an additional 25 seats outdoors in the summer. They have a small bar that seats 7 and half the tables are up in a loft area.
The atmosphere reminds me of some chic European bistro and each time I've been there it has been busy. They don't take reservations unless you have a party of six or more, however, we've never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes for a table. The have a small selection of wines and beer and serve generous cocktails. They are also one of the few nice places to stay open late.
What really set this place apart from everything else in Edmonds is the food. Excellent NW and Pan-Asian food done to perfection. The chef is formerly of the Canlis. There are usually 6 or 7 "large plate" entries on the menu along with an equal number of "small plate" appetizers. Of the three things that I've tried, all have been excellent, but the Sea Bass is the best. And unlike most restaurants in Edmonds, The Loft is also reasonably priced. Now here's a place we can actually afford to visit quite often.
The service is great and the owner, Niko (who claims to be Greek but sounds and looks Russian) is friendly and accommodating. The only down side is the shortage of seating and the rather loud ambience of the place. But I'll suffer through all that to have a nice, affordable and hip place to eat in Edmonds.

I noticed that two reviews were very harsh on the restaurant. I eat here all of the time and I am not vietnamese. I come here for the pho and I stay for the pho. This place has a harder time with being friendly, but if you want the best bowl of this soup, than you have come to the right place. It is soooo cheap and taste fresh, comes out very fast, and it is very sanitary. Just be very polite and when they direct your attention to something, just do it! I say if taste matters to you than this is the place to eat!
Pros: Very cheap, fast, oh my word DELICIOUS!
Cons: Slightly grumpy, but they are not terrible just give them respect.

Our family has enjoyed many a visit to this lovely little restaurant in Edmonds. When I say "lovely", I mean the genuinely lovely service we receive each time we're there. The waiters are the very best and most attentive I've experienced, and the friendliest. Every time we arrive, they are so happy to see us. The cook always comes over to visit with us for a minute before we leave and also checks on us to see if the food is to our liking after we've been served. They obviously love to have children visiting their restaurant too. The food choices are varied and unique, and the menu offers many choices. The quality is excellent, the flavors scrumptious, and the amount of food they serve for the price is fantastic. We always have extra to bring home. When we are through with our meal, they always bring us a plate of fresh orange slices and a warm washcloth (they serve a lot of finger foods). We enjoy the decor of the restaurant even if it isn't fancy, and we're always made to feel comfortable there.....
