I have been to moda several times and I feel that moda's employee's are great, but the owners are not. I believe the owners name is Jami and she seems very unprofessional compared to her employees...i couldn't believe it. when my color was processing Jami was washing her face in the mirror, putting on make up and doing her hair right next to me. I couldn't believe it..for goodness sake i'm a paying guest.on top of that she was wearing her pj's. I feel bad for the girls that have to work there. more

I feel as though I have tried every salon in the Seattle area, trying to find a new stylist after mine had moved away. Moda is a great salon. I went in with a pretty screwed up cut, and my stylist Pearl knew exactly what she was going to do right from the get go. I love my cut more than anything and I can't wait for color (which I have never done). I can't wait to go back. great salon, great environment, and great staff! more

Staff is very friendly. Appointment started on time and my stylist Chloe did an awesome job on my hair. more

The stylists are personable and well trained. The prices, though are high for the market they serve. They are trying to finds some ways to give better deals in this down economy. more

I went there twice. The first time, I was told that my hair would be a lot more to color because it was in bad shape (color-wise)...in other words, my previous hair dresser messed it up so badly that they would need to do extra work. So, I agreed and paid the $300, being told that the next time it would be cheaper...just routine maintenance. So, I went back a couple months later. I had foils and a cut and was floored when I went to pay! Like someone else wrote, the hairdresser took it upon herself to put some $40 conditioner on my hair, but even so...the total was about $250--almost as much as the first time! Routine maintenance? I felt cheated and awful and vowed to never go back. Since then, I have switched to another salon and the first time they did my hair, they took a mirror and showed me how none of the under part on the back had even been foiled!! Are you kidding me?? For $300 and $250?? A total of $550 in two months and it wasn't even done completely?? I will never go back there again. ever. more

I went to Moda for several years based on a referral from a friend who's haircut was super-cute. Then my stylist got PG and decided to stay home after the baby - which is understandable. So I was passed along to a different girl - which I liked the results just as much if not more than the first one. But then the same thing happened - she got pregnant though she did come back after the baby. However, it was at the point she left to have the baby I decided to make a change purely for economic reasons. I was always very satisfied with the way my hair looked & got tons of compliments from strangers on my cut. BUT.... My last time in there, I had a cut and a partial foil, as usual, plus bought a bottle of shampoo and my bill was $310! I about popped my eyeballs out - apparently there was a price increase (not posted nor told about it till I questioned the bill though) and my stylist had taken it upon herself to add some sort of conditioner to my process, without telling me it was an add'l $35! I had NEVER paid that much before. I was expecting maybe $250 -260 - but not over $300. Needless to say I was about sickened over that so I took the opportunity to never go back. I think that is horrible customer relations to have a price increase and NOT inform and NOT post it -esp to long time customers. I know of several other people who stopped going there for the same reason, the prices have gotten out of sight and honestly I don't "feel the love" whenever I go in there like I think one should, after being a regular for more than 5 yrs and having given them several new customer referrals as well. Oh well....it is all about the money everywhere these days I guess. more

just visited Moda for the first time and have completely found my new salon!!!! The people are warm and ultra welcoming and prices are just the same as downtown.... My commute now is half the time and I get even better service! THANKS GIRLS! more

For a men's haircut i was suprised at the bill! Way, way to much! Walking in, you can tell the atmosphere they are attempting to perpetrate with no avail. My haircut wasn't terrible, but the overwhelming attitude reeked of Beverly Hills wannabe prima donnas. more

Did i like the gal that cut my hair? Yes! Did i leave there with a hair cut and partial foil that i was happy with? Sure! HOWEVER, did they charge me way tooo much? Absolutely!!! I've been to many high end hair salon's and you usually get what you pay for. With Moda Salon, you pay for what you get! Which is a big sucker punch to your wallet!! Also, they charge you for things you are unaware of until its time to pay the bill. SURPRISE!!! Your basic cut and partial foil is $230.00!!! Fabulous!! Plus we have to include the 20% tip I left. I just love paying almost $300 for something that I've been having done for many, many, many years and NEVER paid that much before. I'd rather keep commuting to down town Seattle and get exactly what i want and not feel like I'm being robbed when it comes time to pay for it!! Needless to say, I won't be back! more

I have been going to Salon Moda for several years. Before then, I was bouncing around from salon to salon until I came across this little gem in Edmonds. The stylists at this store are sent to Bumble and Bumble conferences in New York to get trained. They are one of the few places in Washington that can sell Bumble and Bumble because of that fact. The prices are a little higher compared to other salons in that area, but you won't get better quality. I have done everything from waxing, facials, massage, manicures, makeup, haircuts, up-dos, foils and coloring and I've never been dissatisfied. They also sell Yonka and use that product for all their facials. I am now a regular user of Yonka and my skin has never looked or felt better. You will leave this place feeling like a million bucks every time. more

Stylist are talented, and much more talented than you would expect from the area. They only stock the best products, however their selection is limited. Overall my impression of the salon was GREAT! Friendly staff who have the needed product knowledge. I recommend the drive to this salon! more

I had a wax done while I was pregnant and no longer able to see to manage things myself. The staff was great, but it took longer than normal because I could not lie flat on my back. The receptionist charged me extra because the staff took longer than she decided was normal. I was not told that this would happen and perhaps wouldn't have chatted with the staff person after she was finished had I known I was paying for that conversation on top of the service. I haven't gone back, yet. more

I go to Moda regularly for my haircut. Not the cheapest place around, but also not overpriced like some Seattle salons. I think they provide a very good value, everybody is extremely pleasant to deal with, and they certainly know what they're doing. Never got a bad haircut. It seems like the staff is happpy to be working there. Would definitely recommend. more

I go to Moda regularly for eye brow waxing, pedicures and manicures. I am always treated with great respect and everyone is always friendly... you don't always get that in the "big city" or chain salons. I highly recommend Moda! more

I come here to have my haircut and my eyebrows waxed. I've also used them for manicures, pedicures, and facials, but not on a regular basis. My husband and two of my sons also come here to have their haircut. We all are all happy customers. more

Salty, salty, salty! The previous reviewer must have gone to a different place than I. My experience was great and I felt very pampered, especially for the value. It is not downtown Seattle so you get more for your money. Dani was my stylist and she did a great job. I will be going back and am certain Moda is not all about the money. They can't be in little old Edmonds, they would never make it! more

the management at salon moda cares about money, not about building customer relationships. they are overpriced...perhaps all the money goes to pay for their trendy "new-age" shop. haircuts are about my image, not my barbershop's more
