Just a quick review. I was referred here by a friend and was satisfied right away! I called three shops and Holman was the cheapest for what I needed done and also would be finished the fastest. I was so pleased that I went in a few weeks later for a very very minor issue and Mike Holman took my car in right away and corrected the problem for no cost! I've since referred a family member to the shop and he was satisfied as well. Because of the professionalism of the staff and prompt fixing of my car both times, I will now give all my car business to Holman!

Are you tired of getting ripped off? Tired of being a female getting scared into paying for repairs because you don't know much about cars? Well, then Holman's is the place you want to go. The other reviews hint that the owner (Mike ) and his staff don't massage your ego. That it takes awhile to get a car in. Well, hello!! They are always busy because he is really really great at what he does. They have moved into a bigger shop so the wait is a little less now too. I guess my experience has been to not wait until I have an emergency to get work done. But I did have my brakes going out on me and he fixed them that day as that IS an emergency. So I wholeheartedly recommend Mike and Jesse to get the work done for a reasonable cost and get it done right. If you want to read other reviews about this shop, I found the ones on Insiderpages.com pretty good-that is how I found these guys...

Holman Automotive in Eden Prairie? Well, we’ve spent thousands of dollars there getting our many vehicles repaired over the years; but we figure we’ve saved many thousands more than we’ve spent. Mike and Jesse do good work, and if there’s a problem (though there seldom is) after they do a repair, they make it right. We’re not afraid to take our collector car there ‘cause Mike treats it like his own. Yes, sometimes dealing with what others have called the “quirks” of the business is frustrating, but we wouldn’t trust anyone else to work on our cars. Mike is honest and knows more about cars than anyone we know. He’s incredible!

If you have $$ and not much time, go to a dealership's shop. If you don't have much $$ (like most of us) and can leave the car for a whole day, try Holman in EP. He will fix what you want fixed and not give you that old line of - well you have to also fix this and that and etc, etc. running up the bill. Agreed, he won't spend lots of time talking to you, reassuring you or chat about the weather. That is what the dealer's service manager or greeter does. He doesn't charge for a diagnostic and gives you the options. Fix A now for $$ or fix A and B or fix B only. He changed a bulb for free as he fixed a fuel problem and warned me of the leaking water pump. Fix it soon as it will get worse but no dire warnings of being stranded with an overheated engine if I don't do it now. The down-side? You need to call him to get the status of your car, remind him, get estimate, etc., he is just too busy and tends to forget. If you want peace of mind and someone to take away all your car problems, go to the dealership (or buy a new car with a warranty). I am satisfied with Mike Holman, quirks (humor?) and all.

I've been bringing my cars to him for years now. I found him in the first place, because he came highly recommended by two of my co-workers who have used him exclusively for years.
After years of going to him for everything, I've NEVER had a problem with my repairs. He's exceptional, honest and doesn't price gouge you. He won't add-on repairs that aren't necessary like many other mechanics do, he tells you what is wrong, what could cause a problem down the road and what he can do etc. I've never had a problem with something that should have been fixed, not being fixed and in an emergency - I always get in. As far as other maint, you have to make appointments with every other professional in your life, what makes you think you wouldn't have to with an honest mechanic with a great reputation? He's busy and booked up for a reason - he's GREAT!
I can't count how many bad repairs and even BAD oil changes I've rec'd prior to going to Holman's. I wouldn't trust any other mechanic with my family's vehicles. I can not praise this mechanic enough. He's a great person, he's straight-forward (he's not a "salesman", he's not going to schoomze you, maybe some people need that sort of treatment) and a pleasure to deal with.

My parents have been taking their cars to Mike for years so naturally when I bought my car, I took it to Mike. Some people have posted that he is rude, but I think it's just a matter of understanding his personality - he's got kind of a sarcastic sense of humor. Just yesterday I went out there to order new tires for my car. The tires I had picked out apparently only last for around 20,000 miles so Mike suggested some others that are the same price and will last twice as long. Come on, how many mechanics are going to take that much of a money hit just so you'll have decent tires? True, there is usually a wait to get in, but I'll take it in order to have the peace of mind that my mechanic is looking out for my best interest and not just the bottom line.

I did not have a very good experience with Holman. The person there was very rude. He so called " repaired " my vehicle twice and even though I knew my vehicle was not driving smoothly he kept on saying that it was just fine. To get a second opinion I showed my vehicle to another store and they fixed it in two hours in less than two hundred dollars and i had spent 600$+ and two weeks of my time on Holman.I will never go there.

To top it all the staff there is very rude and are nowhere near polite.I have not had a very good experience with hollman . As i said before you may get the repair done at a less cost but at the expense of quality
