The Wharton Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Michigan State University brings some excellent shows to an area that many residents feel lacks culture. Many Broadway Shows make it to the Wharton Center, the Lion King just recently ended a run here. We have seen "Stomp" at the Wharton twice. many musical venues show here, as well. The Wharton Center is a first class Theatre.

It's amazing to me how they do it! The Wharton Center brings in some of the best shows around. I was amazed to see Broadway shows right here in East Lansing. The best so far was Chicago. Most of the cast were original from the broadway cast and it was amazing. Even if it's not the original cast, the shows are a must see. And price wise much less then broadway. Some shows are more then others, like Moving Out or The Phantom of the Opera, but worth it. And you can usually get cheap seats in the balcony!

The Wharton Center located on the Michigan State University campus is one of the best places in the state to see a live performance. They bring in many of the top names in a variety of areas of music and theatre. They offer shows for those of all ages and the prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of performers that they have.

I am continually amazed at the quality of productions and performers that the Wharton Center, on the campus of Michigan State University, is able to book. From Broadway hits such as The Lion King and Mama Mia to performances from the likes of Bill Cosby, Winton Marsalis and Jethro Tull, the Wharton center continually delivers.
The Great Hall, while ample in its seating capacity, still feels like an intimate setting and is a wonderful venue to watch these productions and artists.

The Wharton Center, on the campus of Michigan State University is the best place to see a performance in the area. The theatre is very large and impressive. We caught a performance of ballet “Dracula” a few years back and were very impressed by the service of the theatre workers and the extreme cleanliness of the premesis.
It makes for a great evening. Get dressed up, grab your date, grab a bite to eat, and grab a performance at East Lansing’s largest performance theatre.
