The whimsical and family friendly atmosphere, combined with excellent food, makes for a pleasant place to dine. Their specialty, the "Flat" is an incredible buy - it comes with a healthy sized tortilla/quesadilla-like sandwich, taco chips and salsa, pickles, a carrot and homemade corn bread - all for around $5-6. They also featured home-made Polish food, adding to the overall flair. In conclusion, if you find yourself in East Lansing and are sick of the boring/fake atmosphere found at many chain restaurants, take the time to check this place out - it's well worth it.

Flats serves a variety of different fare, including Polish dishes. There's often a special posted out front and the owner is very friendly. The real highlight at Flats, however, is the lemonade! I had never been to Flats when a friend of mine dragged me there to taste the lemondade that she could go for more than a week without. Pick any meal that you wish, but make sure you order lemonade to sip with it!

The environment is fun and bright. Classic rock is always playing loudly and the place is painted bright pastels for a southwestern flair.
Check it out for lunch or a quick dinner.

Tucked into the strip of Michigan State University known as Grand River, you’ll find a small restaurant called Flats. This quarky restaurant offers “Flat” sandwiches that resemble a quesadilla, but come in any flavor you can imagine. The last time I visited, their special was a spicy buffalo chicken “flat.”
The environment is fun and fresh, very fitting for the college atmosphere that is Michigan State University. If you’re all “sandwiched-out” try Flat’s Grille, you’ll be glad you did.
