El Azteco is a wonderful Mexican restaurant in downtown East Lansing. My parents had their first date there, and I've been eating there all my life. My tastes have changed a bit towards spicier food since I started going there, but they have good spicy food too, so I've always been able to find something to get there. If you just like typical Americanized-Mexican food, I'd recommend the tacos, but for more authentic Mexican food, the Enchilada de Jocoque is very good, spicy has a nice burn, and mild has a little bit of heat

I remember when this place was in the basement of a building down the street from where it is now located. The view is definitely better, and the food looks even better (couldn't see before as it was very dark down there, lol). If you like Mexican food, you will love this restaurant. Walking distance from MSU.

Hi, i'm Junior these year, and i ate Rice Kitchen for like triple thousand times. It was so good, especially the asia special that's written on the board. Em... there's a lot of bad comments about Rice Kitchen, but i can't understand why this comments for. I used to worked at a restaurant that open till 2am, and there's a lot of drunk customers. Bad customer service will happened on me either. Sometimes you guys should understand that people will have a margin on their temper. Once a people came drunk and spoke a lot of nonsence things to yourself so what do you think??? Be a customer is not always the right. YOU RESPECT PEOPLE, PEOPLE WILL DEFINITELY RESPECT YOU....
Pros: Very Good
Cons: Absolutely Great

This is an institution at Michigan State University. It is popular all year around but especially during the spring term and football season. It's fun to sit outside and watch everyone by down Grand River Avenue. The inside is rather dark but it's an old bar, expect nothing else. There are fun old pinball games to play. The last time I was in there the service was slow but they were really, really busy!!

If you're a sushi fan and you find yourself in East Lansing, Michigan, this is all you need to know. Sansu is just across the street from the eastern edge of MSU, in the Hannah Plaza. Afterward, go to Chapelure next door for dessert. Life doesn't get any better.

I started going to Peking Express last month, because my friends have been raving about the restaurant to me for a while so I decided to try it out myself. I'm really glad I did! The restaurant has a pleasant feel to it, very clean. The music was delightful. They even have an indoor pond full of goldfish! The best part? The food! It is totally AMAZING. My family is very into Chinese food, so I've grown up eating Chinese food all my life. I can truly say that Peking Express has one of the best Chinese food I've ever had, hands down. I was really surprised at first, because it IS located right across from the MSU campus..and I didn't expect to find such quality and authentic Chinese food there.
I've been to places like rice kitchen, but the food there is utterly disgusting. Golden Wok is not much better either. But Peking Express, is a whole different story. You can just tell it is different by walking into the restaurant and finding it filled with Chinese customers (hey, if Chinese people like the Chinese food there, it's gotta be good right?!). So yea, I've been eating there 2-3 times a week ever since I first tried the food there. Yup, it's THAT good. The food is priced very reasonably too, and they give you A LOT of food (definitely a plus if you are a college student on a budget like me!) Anyway, I recommend Peking Express to anyone who are looking for great authentic Chinese food, period. :)
Pros: FOOD, ATMOSPHERE, VALUE, SERVICE - what else can you ask for?

This is the BEST PIZZA in town HANDS DOWN! No joke, I've been eating Georgio's Pizza since the day they opened (and my waistline is quite upset with me about it). What a great selection of pizzas to choose from, including some of my favorites: Gyro, Taco, Nacho, Black Bean, Potato, Pesto, Spinach, and now Garlic and Feta. The quality is great - down to the crust, and the pizza always tastes great! I highly recommend this place - it's a must visit if you're ever in East Lansing!
Pros: Quality ingredients, array of choices, gyro, potato, taco and black bean pizzas are great!
Cons: Not as economical but well worth it!

The whimsical and family friendly atmosphere, combined with excellent food, makes for a pleasant place to dine. Their specialty, the "Flat" is an incredible buy - it comes with a healthy sized tortilla/quesadilla-like sandwich, taco chips and salsa, pickles, a carrot and homemade corn bread - all for around $5-6. They also featured home-made Polish food, adding to the overall flair. In conclusion, if you find yourself in East Lansing and are sick of the boring/fake atmosphere found at many chain restaurants, take the time to check this place out - it's well worth it.

If you’re sick of burgers and fries, check out Sultan’s on Hagadorn Rd. in the College Store plaza. They serve fantastic Middle Eastern cuisine, of which Chicken Schwarma is my favorite. They have a friendly staff, great food (try their hummus, its fantastic), and an authentic environment.
You can get take out, or eat-in. If you haven’t tried food from the Middle East, I suggest the Chicken Schwarma, which is sort of a roasted, flavored, pulled chicken that is excellent with a side salad and some hummus and pita.
Highly Recommended.

Harpers is a great place if you go on wednesdays. Wednesday at Harpers everything is half price. Go early to skip the cover charge. The food is okay, but not spectacular by any means. In particular don't order the new york stip on wednesdays. It really looks horrible and it doesn't seem like such a good deal when you see the steak. The burgers are okay, but always seem to come out really well done when I order it medium. Aside from that, the beer is excellent and priced great, I recommend raspberry wheat or spartan wheat. You can get beer to go in 64oz jugs. The other downside is the service, It's almost always slow, you're better off going up to the bar to get your drinks than waiting for your server to come around.
