Let's face it; no college textbook store is going to be the greatest place on the planet, but Ned's actually delivers. It usually beats out SBS on prices for books (though usually only by a dollar or two) but absolutely CREAMS them on buyback prices. Their selection runs out quickly though (probably because it is cheaper and smaller than SBS)which is really the only negative. They have a great location and a helpful staff...

This bookstore is horrible, to be blunt. Firstly the are in conjunction with other bookstores on campus that form a conglamerate of bookstores, with the exception of the student book store which is the only independent bookstore. There prices therefore are not really competitive since they are the same as everyone else. Your best bet would just be to find out the books you will need at least two weeks in advance and using campusi.com and getting them for much cheaper usually saving hundreds of dollars.

Very good resale value for your used textbooks. The prices are still high, but what can ya do? Pretty decent customer service too. They will also validate parking with any purchase. The merchandise, however, is pretty expensive though. Don’t buy a t-shirt from here. Overall, a pretty good bargain if you are only going for text books.

I once saw this T-Shirt with the slogan "I GOT USED AT NEDS" ... so I had to check this store out. Ned's is a college bookstore on the campus of Michigan State University on Grand River. They recently remodeled the store (a year or two ago), so it is very nice. They have the standard huge selection of text books. They also have a nice assortment of Michigan State gear, including flags, beer steins, T-Shirts, and tons of other school related supplies. Sometimes when the Student Bookstore gets overly packed during the first and last weeks of the semester, it is a nice break to stop by Ned's and pick up what you need.
