The Student Book Store, or "SBS" as it is known to all Michigan State Students, is conveniently located directly across from Campus along Grand River Avenue. It carries a huge selection of text books, as well as MSU apparel and other logo items.
During the beginning and end of the semesters, this place is JAM PACKED with students .. but not to worry, they open like 50 check-out lines to keep things moving. And to draw students in, they give away free pizza during peak times of the year.
SBS is fantastic, just be ready to brave the crowds if you're going to first, or last week of the semester.

Let's face it; no college textbook store is going to be the greatest place on the planet, but Ned's actually delivers. It usually beats out SBS on prices for books (though usually only by a dollar or two) but absolutely CREAMS them on buyback prices. Their selection runs out quickly though (probably because it is cheaper and smaller than SBS)which is really the only negative. They have a great location and a helpful staff...

This is such a great store. There is such a huge slection, including alot of books that you may not be able to find anywhere else along with your obvious new releases and popular books. The owner is a great guy and hesa always in the store and is ready to help. Its such a cozy shop and is much better than the bigger chain stores.

The Fortress has open gaming nights...making it a great place for teens (and adults) who play Magic, RPG, etc to hang out...a booze free alternative. The people here all seem nice...my son and his friends have met some great guys here. They sell games, comics, miniatures, cards and more...and they have a great frequent buyer program. a cool place!

I love this book store. They are smaller than other local stores but you cannot beat the atmosphere and the enviroment here. It is a great place to come and shop. They staff are always very friendly and helpful and i always find new things every time i come here. Definitely come check them out !

Great little book store with a nice location. A great alternative to the huge retail places. I like cozy book stores like this, this is the kind of store that you want to support. Pretty good bargains. You feel good about buying a book here. Good location for many who live in east Lansing. I would defiantly recommend this place.
