We moved here 14 years ago and found Gourmet Village just wandering around. The day we walked in it was packed with MSU faculty and their families- mostly Asian. The food was amazing and we found dishes just as authentic as one's we had in Kowloon. We order take out so often from GV that they know us now. Confused about what to get- try the Gourmet Hot Pot or one of their house specials. They never disappoint!!

I started going to Peking Express last month, because my friends have been raving about the restaurant to me for a while so I decided to try it out myself. I'm really glad I did! The restaurant has a pleasant feel to it, very clean. The music was delightful. They even have an indoor pond full of goldfish! The best part? The food! It is totally AMAZING. My family is very into Chinese food, so I've grown up eating Chinese food all my life. I can truly say that Peking Express has one of the best Chinese food I've ever had, hands down. I was really surprised at first, because it IS located right across from the MSU campus..and I didn't expect to find such quality and authentic Chinese food there.
I've been to places like rice kitchen, but the food there is utterly disgusting. Golden Wok is not much better either. But Peking Express, is a whole different story. You can just tell it is different by walking into the restaurant and finding it filled with Chinese customers (hey, if Chinese people like the Chinese food there, it's gotta be good right?!). So yea, I've been eating there 2-3 times a week ever since I first tried the food there. Yup, it's THAT good. The food is priced very reasonably too, and they give you A LOT of food (definitely a plus if you are a college student on a budget like me!) Anyway, I recommend Peking Express to anyone who are looking for great authentic Chinese food, period. :)
Pros: FOOD, ATMOSPHERE, VALUE, SERVICE - what else can you ask for?

The food here is just amazing. Not only is the sushi great (and an assortment) but the variety of Japanese dishes are amazing. I don't know what else to say about this place except for the great food that they have. The place is a little dark and you can tell that it's run by a family, but hey, who can argue with the food -- which is what you are paying for, after all!
Pros: food
Cons: dark lighting

omi is the greatest sushi restaraunt in the world. ive been to many other places,(most of which gave me a stomach ache) but i liked omi the best. they also have this stuff called orangina, which is sort of like orange soda, that i love, and the food is great. the service is exceptional, the portions are great, the sushi, even if you are allergic, the sushi is still great. if you go, i encourage you to try the eel rolls, tempora, and california rolls. Have fun!

I had never had Thai Food before, but my husband reccommended this place along with a bunch of his co-workers. I loved it from the first bite! We have gotten take out from there at least 20 times since. I have never dined in, but when I've gone to pick up the food the place is always packed. Which in my mind, is a good sign. Our favorite dishes are; Pad Thai, Gai Pad Prik Haeng (reminds me of kung pao chicken), and Mus Sa Mun Gai. I'm sure there are lots of tasty dishes, but I don't like change. I am very picky when it comes to any type of Asian food. I haven't found any good Chinese food places here in East Lansing, but it doesn't matter now that I've found Taste of Thai! I would highly reccommend Taste of Thai to anyone.
Pros: Delicious food, quick and friendly service.
Cons: The restaurant is tiny if you want to dine in.

I actually really enjoy this place as far as Chinese food. Not only do they have lots of great dishes to try, but they also have American food, like Pizza, Macaroni and Cheese, and french fries, etc. so that if you do go w/ your family and have picky kids, everyone can still get something they will eat. The buffet is the best one around of it's kind for reasons already stated, and it's pretty cheap for what's available. I have never eaten on the other side were they bring you what you order, so I don't have an opinion on that. Lots of seating, no usually overly crowded, just right, enjoyable, food is great, what more can I say. I agree w/ the previous review about the desserts, it's a little disappointing, but you're so full you don't really care.

This place is pretty good as it's close to campus and it serves decent food. The buffet are okay, but they have other traditional chinese dishes. They have dim sum and bubble tea and other Chinese dishes that are pretty authentic. Sometimes, if there is a crowd then the wait might be longer. The atmosphere is good and the restaurant is spacious and roomy. Most of the time, the service is pretty good also.

If you are looking for some quick and decent priced food, panda express is the place to go. There is plenty of food selection and the service is, for the most part, fast. Prices range from 4-6 dollars for a dish, and slightly more for a meal. For good japanese food, I would come here.
PROS: Great food
CONS: Sometimes food can be left sitting out for some time
