All you can eat BBQ!! 4/16/2006

All you can eat BBQ. What more can you ask for? A reasonable price. They've got that, too. The only downside is the drive. But hey, you can't have it all. Their sausage is juicy and delicious. The turkey sandwich, a little dry. Their brisket and ribs are also juicy and flavorful. Great place, just be prepared to wait if you don't get there early enough on the weekends. more

I'm not sure what the fuzz is about 12/31/2005

I had to go try the BBQ at the Salt Lick since I kept hearing about it. To me it was average. I'm not sure it was worth the long drive. I really didn't like their desserts. It is a BYOB place. They sitting area is cute w/ the rustic feel. The staff was very attentive. more

worth the drive 8/23/2005

The Salt Lick is a really great BBQ joint and a perfect place to take out-of-towners for a little BBQ adventure. The brisket is really good. The sauce is top notch. The chicken dishes are pretty good too for the non-beef crowd. I wish they had more side dishes to offer (I'm not really into the beans and bread) but that is really a minor complaint. more

Barbecue Restaurant & Catering 8/19/2005

Salt Lick Restaurant & Catering is a landmark site in Driftwood, TX in a country setting. Of course it has the usual barbecued chicken, sausage, brisket, ribs and sides. It also does catering, has a large covered area for parties. Go early, it fills up fast. You need cash, though there is an ATM at the register. more

Great place 8/17/2005

It is the best BBQ I ever tried I think, a little far away from the downtown Austin, but it is totally worth to drive down there and have a big mouth full. You can get a family dish so that you eat sausage, roast beef and ribs as much as you can. That dish is my favorite, never try other dishes there. more

Great food great location 8/5/2005

Nestled under the hill country ceder trees on a county road near Wimberley, the Salt Lick has the best Bar-B-Que around. They offer the best ribs, slaw, beans, and sliced beefa round. The prices are great, but the atmosphere is unbeatable. more

This is the kind of BBQ Texas is known for. 7/13/2005

If you love BBQ you should visit the Salt Lick. They offer a menu that includes smoked brisket, sausage, and turkey. The sides are typical of BBQ restaurants and include beans, cole slaw, and potato salad, though they are the sides you would expect at any BBQ restaurant the Salt Lick has their own special recipes. The restaurant does not offer a bar but they do allow you to bring your own beer. more
