Hello,
My name is Glen the owner of the Good Olde Yum Yum. I have read some good and not so good comments here. First let me say thank you for your input. While I would like to have a perfect record I am realistic to know there are times we have faltered. While there is no excuse for not delivering what was expected , I would like to apologize if in any way I have let you down from your expectations. Your satisfaction is very important to me. I would like to invite you to please contact me personally if there is anything that I can help you with past and future. Again I thank you for your input and continued support of my bakery. I look forward to hearing from you.

The BEST baked goods in the Merrimac Valley!
Although all of their baked goods are top notch, their cakes and frosted gingerbread men stand out. This bakery is as old as the hills, and has lasted because of the quality.
Any old fool can bake a cherry pie, but the Good Olde Yum Yum's baked goods are just terrific.

I have been shopping at the Yum Yum Shop for over 40 years now and I think it's the best. I had them make my Wedding cake in 2006 and found them to be very pleasant to work with and the cake was decorated better than I had imagined. The taste was excellent too. I love their crimp bread, gingerbread men and black moons. I would recommend this bakery to all.
Keep up the good work.

3 words and a date. that's it. it looked as if a 2 year old, NO exaggeration, had piped the lettering on the cake. part of the date was on the side, not top SAYS reads GAYS. Bought a frosted gingerbread cookie. she dropped the bag, checked the cookie to see if it was damaged. I get home. it's in 5 pieces. Did the cookie have a nervous breakdown during the 2 minute ride home?
To the Mcleods, owners: sorry if I misspelled your name but I read your letter posted on a pastry case, bemoaning rising fuel and ingredient costs. NOT your biggest problem. It's time for you to find another line of work. I spent sixteen bucks for that 7 inch cake, and gingerbread puzzle. If the cake tastes bad when we eat it later tonight, you'll have one irate customer visiting on Saturday. Not the first time, I've had problems here. Got price shock on a dozen doughnuts once. got change for a 10 instead of a 20 once. It's sad to watch because some items are one of a kind in taste, but I'm done with Yum Yum after 30+ years.

The pastry is OK at best, but $9.99 for a dozen donuts? Highway robbery! In addition, 6 small cookies (maybe 1.5 inch diameter) cost an additional $5 and there were no prices posted, so it is quite a shock when they ring you up! This is not sophisticated French pastry or even of the quality of the pastry shops in the North End. Nothing special and very expensive. This shop may have been around a long time, but I do not forsee them remaining in existence much longer at this rate. So long, Yum Yum!

This bakery has very good tasting items, although at times many items are not fresh, but day old being sold at fresh prices.
The biggest complaint would be that they have no marked prices or prices listed. It is left to the honesty of the employees to know the correct prices. If you hit it on a good day when eveything you buy happens to be fresh, it's a great experience!
PROS: Great tasting items
CONS: No marked prices & stale items at times
