This popular recreational site, centered around Lake Dillon, deserves its reputation. It's wonderful. You can rent all kinds of boats for the lake--from pontoons to fishing boats and everything in between. There is no swimming allowed in the lake, however. Nonetheless, it's a great spot to watch the boaters, picnic or stroll the path that goes around the lake. To my delight, I discovered last year that the path around Lake Dillon is part of a larger recreational path that runs from Frisco to Breckenridge. I spent a delightful day of riding, which took me into Breckenridge for lunch and then back on this easy to ride path. it's a great day trip from Denver.
