Some of the best wings I've had! I got the wings and rib combo and both were superb! Wings were meaty and well-flavored. For those of you used to going to places w/ dozens of sauces to choose from - you do not get that choice here - but we didn't care because it was great!
Two others in our party got pitas - and they loved it too!
Will definitely go back next time I am in downtown Detroit!
Pros: Wings, Ribs, Pitas
Cons: none

It is an experience to eat at the Rattlesnake. Excellent food, great filets and seafood. Service has always been outstanding, particularly with John H. as our waiter. Courses are timed perfectly, wines are outstanding. Great place for a special occasion or an occasional splurge. They have special wine dinners occassionally which are wonderful. Can't recommend this place enough.
Pros: Food, service
Cons: None

My kids love going to the Art Museum to see all the different colors, shapes, and depictions. I love going to the museum because we wander aorund in relative safety and it costs a fraction of other activities we could be doing... The institute is a wonderful place to take the kids!

Mexican Town is right off of I75 in Detroit, near Clark and Vernor. I love the food and it has a wonderful bakery called Lunas 2. You can try El Rancho or many other places for dinner and drinks. I always have a great time there. They have live spanish music at several of the restaraunts and lotsof shopping. Try it, you'll love it.

Lots of things about Detroit make me happy to live here: John King Bookstore, The Heidelberg Project, The Conservatory on Belle Isle, The Pistons, Dally in the Alley, The Sphinx Foundation, Eastern Market, The Detroit Institute of Arts.
Another Detroit institution that I celebrate with my patronage as often as possible is Traffic Jam and Snug. How can a place with its own bakery, brewery and dairy be anything but magnificent? Its food is fresh and bountiful (meals begin with homemade bread du jour--often unusual, always delicious); its service is gracious, neither obsequious nor neglectful; its eclecticism is authentic; its location in the heart of midtown is ideal.
Traffic Jam never fails to surprise and delight.

We went there as a church group from Goodrich MI, several Sundays ago. We called several hours before going and they were able to make reservations.
The luncheon buffet was great and a good way to try things. They make tortillas right as you enter and that is quite nice indeed. The tortillas you get are fresh made. Next time, I will try their fish tacos.
They have an outside sidewalk patio, at which to sit would be fun. The day we went it was in the middle 90s so the indoor atmosphere was nicer with the air conditioning. Although there were several people sitting outside in spite of the heat.
I thought the bathrooms were inaccessible to wheelchairs because they were down at the bottom of several stairs. The waitress, who was very nice, took me to another bathroom on the main floor that was ample and clean. It did not have a lock but others knew to knock first before entering.
Pros: Good food, friendly service, clean establishment
Cons: None

This is a brand new oslo, with new owners keep in mind. The restaurant is spotless and the staff was top notch. We had a spicy tuna roll, a yellowbelly roll a dynamite roll and a tempura shrimp with salmon (the last 2 were so big we had to cut them in half) and 4 pieces of nigiri. The tuna nigiri was the best I have ever had, top quality. The dynamite and tempura rolls were so big they were actually like getting 4 rolls. The sauces were fantastic. The prices were amazing, if you consider the size it was like 6 rolls and 4 pieces of nigiri and the wine was resonably priced as well. Dinner and drinks for 2 for 60$, not bad at all especiaaly considering we ordered premium items. The staff was so kind. The sushi chef actually came from behind his station to check each table and make sure everything was to their liking. You have a new regular in me.
Pros: Fantastic food, impecccable service, resonable prices. The staff actually cares
Cons: Not a thing.
