The Detroit Opera House is a great place to see everything from Opera to Country concerts! Every time I have gone there, I've noticed the employees to be friendly and courteous, they even know a lot of history about the theatre itself--make sure to ask someone there if you are curious. It is a beautiful theatre, restored not too long ago in the heart of the city. it can be expensive the closer you sit, but actually it doesn't matter where you sit there because all seats have a great view! Parking is located in a structure right next to the Opera House, and it is much better lit now than a few years ago, I guess they are getting that whole part of the city ready for the Superbowl.

The decor in this theater is very impressive. I've seen several operas performed here and each one was wonderful. Seats can be pricey but if you don't mind sitting towards the back, they can be a good deal. I've always gotten the cheaper seats and I've always been able to see just fine. They also perform a variety of classic operas as well as modern ones.

The Detroit Opera House is the place to go if you want to see a variety of shows in Detroit. Every season they have different tours come in. I've seen everything from the Bolshoi Ballet, to Evening at the Apollo, to the Vagina Monologues. Tons of different things come to the Opera House and it's a great venue to watch it in. There is a large balcony and floor region...though I prefer the balcony since the floor is pretty flat and your view can be obstructed by the heads in front of you. The theater is beautiful and historic...and while the seats may not be the most comfortable...it's one of the few places you can see some of the best shows in town. At times it's pricey so you may want to be choosey in what you attend. The further back you sit the cheaper the seats are...but for some shows you may not want to sit that far up and back.

Last Christmas I went to see the Nutcracker at the Detroit Opera House. I was a little nervous, because I never went to anything like this before. It was a great show. Talent, sound, and pure enjoyment of the season help with the whole experience. I definately recommend going to this great place for dance and theater.

The Detroit Opera House is a beautiful theater in the heart of Detroit. The Opera House has it's regular season during the fall full of music, dance, and theater. You can see anything at the Opera House from the Vagina Monologues to the Bolshoi Ballet. With plenty of floor and balcony seating, as well as more expensive box seating, there is a spot for everyone to sit in all price ranges. Since it's right downtown, you can catch a show, grab a bite to eat afterwords, or hit the casino. Just make sure to buy your tickets in advance before the good tickets are all gone.
