You have got to try this thick Chicago style pizza if you are in the Detroit area!! This place is hoppin but its well worth the wait. There are other things on the menu but nothing compares to this pizza. Go with an empty stomach because you will leave feeling STUFFED!! LOL The salads are good, too. One piece of this pizza can fill me up! Parking is pretty much nil downtown. You have to park in a garage or structure and then walk to this establishment. Staff are very nice, wait is quick and prices are very reasonable. I gotta say that I don't even have room for dessert when I am done eating this pizza!!

If you like delicious deep-crust pizza, you must try Pizza Papalis! Found in the heart of Greektown, the restaurant has great atmosphere with its wooden floors and tables. Their pizzas are the thickest I've eaten and loaded with toppings such as spinach, mushrooms and feta cheese. You can also get carryout or order ahead of time for large parties. Service is good with a casual attitude.

Pizza Papalis has by far the best pizza I have ever had in my life. Located in the heart of Greektown, this Chicago-style restuarant is able to serve small parties and very large parties. The pizzas are huge and just totally worth the 45 minute wait. On any given day, there will be a wait for a table, but it is only because this is the type of food you are willing to wait for. A neat trick for parking is to park at the Greektown Casino and then validate your parking on your way in or out of the casino. Bam - free parking! Gamble a little if you like that too. While in Greektown, make sure you stop at the bakery right by Pizza Papalis. This is a sure fire great evening. I make sure I stop by Pizza Papalis everytime I am in town. Sometimes I even order a pizza to take as carry on for my flight back to Honolulu.

Pizza Papalis is the best deep dish in metro detroit -- in fact, the best deep dish anywehre outside of Chicago, and even then it can hold its own. The Detroit location is in the middle of greektown, so you are able to head to the casino afterwards (or before) to win some money. They also take greektown comps, which is a plus!

I ordered one of the lunch specials which was pizza and salad. It was a very good salad, and the pizza was Chicago Style deep dish. It was good too. The lunch was the perfect portion size. The cheese was thick and gooey, then the sauce was on top. The prices for lunch were about four to five dollars. The whole pizzas were from 15 to 25 dollars depending on what you get on it. I recommend the lunch specials. The service was fabulous with the waiter coming back frequently to make sure everything was fine.
