I love finding unique shops, stores and especially art galleries in detroit. Everyone always seems to bash everything detroit that it is always nice to find something that isn't so bad. Arts Extended has a lot of cute pieces that are great to check out from time to time. You will find things that are amusing, thought provoking and endearing all in one visit. I like seeing different pieces that trigger different emotions. I would definitely recommend arts extended...

I'm not really pleased that you have to ride through a bad area of Detroit to get here but its worth the beauty. When everything is in bloom in the prime of the
season the site is so glorious. They keep up the conservatory very well and immaculate. I've had a lot of pictures taken in front of the flowers. Inside is equally as attractive. It's like being in a totally different world. Must take the long
bridge over to Belle Isle. At night the fountains at its entrance illuminate with changing colors, another site to behold.

I had high hopes for C&C art gallery, hoping for another gem in the city. But it did not live up to its billing and let me down on a number of hopes. I would have liked to see a little more Detroit influence, a little more urban influence, i found very little urban and a lot more generic mainstream. Exactly what i do not look for out little city art galleries, i would be interested to hear someone elses take on the situation. Please let me know if you have visited

C Pop Gallery was a little more what i had hoped for. It offers some 'starving detroit artists' pieces that are all very unique. The emotions that are triggered by the pieces are great, and i felt very moved by some of the pieces. On the other hand most of th eother pieces were not nearly as great, i hope to find a place with a good mix of urban thought provoking pieces, instead of just a few gems, if i am going to make the journey all the way downtown to see them. yikes

If you live in Michigan than you have probably went on a field trip here. I always enjoyed going to the Museum because I would learn so much about
our area. My favorite place to see was the little city recreated to the early
1900's. They have cobblestone streets and the candle lit posts. Just so adorable and at that age when I went I was totally in love with the book "Little
Women" so this was like my dream come true.

the DIA is a historic landmark for michigan. It is easily the best art gallery in Michigan, and one of the best in the mid-west. The DIA constantly has exhibits from the worlds most prestiguous and popular artists and always is changing their displays. This one is definitely for everyone and anyone. Please go, you deserve to get more cultured. Fashbash is coming up and its a great time to further check everything out.

I would recommend if you've already been to the museum to go down there on Thursday evenings in the fall and check out the Detroit Film Theatre. They usually have an eclectic collection of excellent foreign films at $7.50. The place is mostly empty sans a few stragglers, CCS students, and film geeks. The theatre itself is 1920s era gorgeous.

My kids love going to the Art Museum to see all the different colors, shapes, and depictions. I love going to the museum because we wander aorund in relative safety and it costs a fraction of other activities we could be doing... The institute is a wonderful place to take the kids!

First of all, let me admit my deep, dark secret. I AM A DETROIT LIONS FAN! I look like a normal person. I go to work, cook dinner for my husband and children, and balance my checkbook every month (well, may be I'm not THAT normal!), but football season comes, and every year my heart is full of hope- may be this will be my year. If you're one too, I feel your pain. Today is the best day of my Lions life, because we're in second place!

This was a great experience for our whole family. We spent the day here and enjoyed all the exhibits.
The Imax was too much fun. I would recommend visiting that no matter what is showing at the time.
This would make the perfect family outing, school field trip. Wonderful for homeschoolers.
They have all sorts of activities for many different age ranges. Also a great little gift shop.
